    Woo hoo! It's Saturday!

Yes! It's Satuday! And it is supposed to be a beautiful weekend here in Michigan!! We have had just a tad too much rain and cloudy, cool weather this spring so any nice day is welcome! Yesterday we had fog where I live - so thick all the schools in the county had a two hour delay. Then the school my DD attends actually cancelled school because it was still so bad three hours later. Friends who live on the lakeshore (I live 9 miles from Lake Huron) said they still had fog at their place at 1:00 p.m. DD was bummed it was cancelled because it was her last day of high school and she wanted to take pictures with friends (she waited till the last day!) but I reminded her she has graduation practice next week and can take pictures then.

Last night was her regional track meet and she qualified for state finals in the pole vault and the 100M hurdles. She missed the 300M hurdles by 3/10th of a second. She was teary-eyed about that.

So far today I have three loads of laundry done to add to the two I did last night. I am going to hang them outside in a bit here and then finish putting borders on my spring Log Cabin variation quilt. Then I have to go back to sewing DD's bargello graduation present quilt. Every time she sees me sewing mine, she says, "Hmm. That doesn't look like my quilt, Mom!"

Hope everyone has a good day. Prayerful thoughts to all who need them.

Sounds like a good, productive day Kathy. We started out rainy, but then it cleared off here. I spent way too much time on the computer this morning, but did some work on laundry too. Then this afternoon I got into the sewing room - did some froggy sewing, then worked on more blocks for the 2nd wedding quilt. Sounds like it could get stormy tonite, but I really hope not. I ordered thundershirts for both dogs this morning - I thought I could find them in a pet store, but no such luck.

Today is dd2's 19th birthday - don't know how those years went to fast.

      Kathy and Darce,

You both have pretty full plates these days!

I've just started working on winding ways quilt blocks. I'm using Marti Mitchell's templates and really enjoying the process.

Very nice day here - mild temps and kids and DGK's in and out today.

        Darce - what's a thundershirt? :?:

It's Sunday now but I got my log cabin quilt finished yesterday. I checked my backing fabrics and don't have one that will work. And I don't have enough scraps of it left to make the backing out of the scaps. But I did find a site that has 7.5 yards left of one of the fabrics that will look nice for the back. I have 2/3 of a yard of it left so I think I can piece it together. It was priced at $5.00 a yard so I couldn't go wrong, could I.

Now after folding all the laundry that I hung out yesterday (well, all but DD's - I make the kids fold their own) I started working on DD's bargello quilt. Got stabbed with a pin under the fingernail already! And it's only the first row! I am pinning the seams to make sure they butt up correctly. It's easier to just pin each intersection rather than rip it out and correct it later.

Hope anyone who checks in here has a great day. We seem to be few these days.

Cloudy in MA but thankfully no rain .....raw and cold at 50 deg. I can tell I'm not checking in here at the Playground often enough.....what are "thundershirts" for dogs??? :?: Since I can't sit and sew right now, I'm finding other chores to keep me busy.....sorting drawers, bathroom cupboards, under sink storage, etc. and tossing away products that have expired and odds and ends. Why do we collect so much stuff? Today is my best day so far and I've cut fabric for several Birthday swap blocks. Maybe I'll bake something and take the chill off this kitchen! Be sure to post pictures of your finished projects to keep us all inspired!

Good stormy afternoon! We had a thunderstorm pass thru earlier - nothing serious right here, but nasty, nasty not too far south. dh just called to say he wouldn't be home tonite - there's about a mile of power line down they've got to work on putting back up. Sure wish I'd made him a decent lunch, since there's no telling when or if they'll get to eat supper. I've been mostly putzing around today, but have gotten some sewing done.

Thundershirts are a vest like thing to put on the dogs to calm their agitation at thunderstorms, fireworks, even car rides. Someone on this forum had suggested them, so I asked my vet and she said they do work on some dogs. I sure hope they do. Thanks, Darce. My MIL could have used something like that years ago for the dog of hers several times jumped through the screen on the sliding glass door when it would thunder! But he was "just a farm dog" so I know better than to think that would ever happen.
