    Showery Saturday!

Good afternoon everyone! It's a rainy Saturday here in Michigan today. It's been raining out there all morning!
She-quilts - my DH is a farmer, too, but we had such a wet spring, he only got started planting sugar beets about a good 10 days ago. Last year he had the beets AND the corn in by this time!

I was a naughty girl yesterday after work. I stopped and I bought my annual flowers and stopped at the grocery store. I SHOULD have come home and mowed my lawn. But I thought they were kidding about the rain, so instead I went and visited my brother-in-law's wife - and I took a bottle of chocolate wine. They live a quarter mile down the road. Her of-age daughter was over with her kids, too, so she helped us a little with the wine. Well, now since it won't quit raining, that makes it quite difficult to mow the lawn, eh? Darn, does that mean I should go sew???? Yup. I think so! Monday monthly quilt group is this Monday and maybe I can get the log cabin variation spring quilt top done???

Have a good day anyone who reads this and prayers to all who need them.

Never heard of chocolate wine - sounds like something I need to investigate!

Rainy here too - got up to a whopping 46 degrees! Didn't stop 2 friends and I from heading to NE Iowa and shopping at some Mennonite greenhouses. We found 5 of them before we managed to fill every free space in the van - plus use the hanger hooks for hanging baskets! Stopped at an A & W on the way home for a late lunch which was very yummy too. Now if the weather would cooperate so I can plant all I bought. No doubt I'll find I need a few more and hit one of the local greenhouses too!

I've got the center medallion block of my BOM about done and am making progress on the 2nd wedding quilt. I think I need to finish one complete block set so I can decide if I cut the strips too thin. The pattern gave a width range and I went with the more narrow, plus I trimmed a lot of them to an angle so they aren't sewn together in straight rows. If I decide they are too narrow, they'll still make a cool string quilt of some sort or another and I have plenty of fabric left. Still, don't really want to start over - we'll see.

Bella keeps laying her head on my keyboard and helping with my message! haha

        Hugs,

        Darce

Yup, chocolate wine. It looks like chocolate milk, but oh, boy - it doesn't taste like it!! I will find out the name of it. The empty bottle (ah-hem ops: ) got left at my DH's brother's place. I know the label has a windmill on the front. I think a niece brought to Easter or Thanksgiving over a year ago and when I recognized the bottle when we were on vacation in Florida at Christmas, I bought it and brought it home.
