Tuesday Morning
Woke up to ice here in Northern Virginia. Most of the schools are closed but hubby made it to work safely - thank goodness. Today will be another day without quilting. My daughter leaves for college on Friday so I am spending time with her and helping her sort through her "stuff".
Yesterday, I met with my friend whose daughter has Aspergers. I feel good that I was able to supply her with information about our school system and services her child may be able to receive. I also gave her names and numbers of people to contact. I know she will follow through with the info and hopefully get her daughter the help she needs. It's a good feeling.
Have a safe and healthy day,
Take care,

Morning all,
Donna glad your talk went ok.
Yesterday I got all the laundry done in one day! wooo hooo! Had 13 loads total! Ugh! You'd think I didn't do laundry weekly! I also got this baby quilt that I've been working on for a year quilted yesterday. I decided to go with stippling. It turned out really nice and it's D-O-N-E the first one of the year. Got it cut down, binding made and machine attached. I even started hand stitching it down too! That's what I've been working on this morning already. It seems to take me forever to get binding done but I'm gonna try and break that habit this year. So my next project... I need to plan a baby quilt for my friend who's shower is Feb 5th. Might head into town today (now that the roads are plowed.) And see what I can find for ideas. Definitely have to head to the lqs since my bom exchange is today. Prob should fit some cleaning in somewhere  Hope everyone has a productive day!
Happy Stitching,
Margaret

"Today is playgroup, supervised basketball for oldest and a workout for me. That leaves little time between running three kids to and from school for much. I need to do some minor cleaning today. The big cleaning will be at the end of the week for a change due to a party I am having. I might work on cutting the nubs off the half square triangle blocks and pinning them to the next square piece of the block. We will see. It is exciting to be piecing again, but it is such a big quilt that sometimes I feel like I am getting very little done. Though I know when it will be together I will be very excited.
Donna glad your talk went well.
Marg. good luck on finding stuff for the baby quilt and great job at getting one done.
Have a great day everyone.

Morning all. We're back from Northern VA -- that's where my son lives, Donna -- and we had a fun weekend chilling with two of our darling grandchildren. Lots of pretending, lots of playing -- got whacked - by accident - with a whiffle bat by my 2 year old grandson and survived
Took Amtrak both ways -- Friday, lots of delays - yesterday everything was right on time. WE've got ice on top of an inch of snow -- hopefully it'll warm up here and melt into slush real quick. I'm looking forward to getting back in my sewing room-- but have to do laundry and get the house put back together first. Hope you all have a great day!

The whack by the whiffle bat has me ROFLOL taking me back a little over 20 years , although not from grandson (yet) but from the boys when they were little. I honestly think that toy was invented by an adult with a grudge against his/her parents. Its so exciting sitting there with images of our future superstars in our mind till "whack" never fails either the bat or the ball finds a sensitive part of the body. I think before DGS gets one I'm checking the packaging for subliminal messages. I've yet to meet an adult that doesn't have a "whiffle" story to share.

Today I took DH to the VA for two appointments. I then worked on laundry and DH surprised me by making a stew. WOW. He hasn't been in the kitchen for almost a year. He is talking about fixing a roast for tomorrow. What got into him?
I worked a little while in the sewing room. At least I got my books back on their shelf. I plan to go in there in a little while and do some piecing of blocks. Tomorrow I will be working in my studio most of the day. Wishing everyone a terrific evening and a greater day tomorrow.

Apparently your body decided to ignore you and shut down on it own. If you find it hard to sleep tonight , keep lights low , no TV and grab a book you've read before. May take a while but you will sleep. Hopefully thats the treatment you need to get to feeling like yourslf again. See you posting smilies tomorrow.
