Keith, it looks fabulous! I especially luv the way you did the quilting on the black/grey spokes! The feathers and fringe are wonderful!!

After clicking on Keith's quilt twice, I was reminded of Susan Sarandon's one liner in Bull Durham after seeing one of the hotties..."Oh, My" in her southern drawl.

I sure hope this quilt goes to lots of other shows to keep collecting ribbons and accolades.

Rita, your wish is my command.

The center pink is all silk and it's all turned-edge machine appliqué. I don't have the quilt back from MQX yet, but here's a closer-up picture I do have of the partially quilted border.

Thanks Margo! I'm glad you like the feathers and fringe. At one point I thought maybe the fringe looked more like fish bones...

And thanks, Lois! I did have a lot of fun with this one - I'm glad it shows. And thanks Susan and Cheryl!

Hi Janet! Yes, I internet searched for just the right pink buttons and when I found them I bought 700 - I think 586 made it onto the quilt.

Aw Keith thanks so much for the closeups. Kudos for all those perfect little circles. You must have the patience of a saint (as my mother would say.) I agree with Margo about the feathers, they are very special. And every single button is positioned perfectly! What are you going to do with 114 spare pink buttons???

Now for my next wish....

That part looks like a moon above every tree. And what a treat to be able to see the fabrics by the double click.
Keith, how big are these pictures? Maybe we should all try this size pic for viewing special details.

Wow! Keith, being able to see these close-ups makes your quilt seem even more impressive than I realized!! It's truly spectacular!!

                              Keith,
Truly " jaw dropping". I spied the buttons in earlier pics. Did you hand sew or machine them on?
Love the trees too. Thanks for sharing.

Okay - I absolutely love what everyone else sees - it's great, we're all different and special, and it's what makes the world go 'round.
I see over-the-top gaudy, loud eccentric drag queen costume, and bright Hollywood. And Janet sees "lovely".
I see fish bones and Margo sees fringe.
I see big industrial rivets like the whole quilt is bolted together and Susan sees moons above the trees. <-- This one is really special. It made my morning.
                                I love it!!! Thanks everyone!
This pics were each like 3 Megs or more, 3,000 x 3,000. But TQS adjusted them down to what looks like a max 1,200 per side - they both ended up 1200x900. I think this is much larger than what we can put in our profile or blogs.
And one of the things I learned working on The Learning Quilt was how to use my machine's button stitch. With metallic thread. I broke a few buttons. And some metallic thread.
