Mary, it is just as well we are not near the real quilt because it would be saturated with all the drooling. I love all the different quilting motifs you have used. It must have taken you ages to do. You must have had to tie off an awful lot of threads with all those little circles inside the squares. I love the little basket weave on the on-point 4-patches. And the echo quilting on the central medallion. The feathers in the setting triangles are gorgeous too. I could go on...but I won't. Loved seeing the closeups, thanks.

Congratulations to both of you! Beautiful quilts, and beautifully executed!!! They do so deserve those ribbons.

Thanks everyone for all the wonderful comments, I so much appreciate all your kind words!

Connie, I plan to try to get it juried into the AQS Des Moines show which is in October. I live in Minnesota (Woodbury,a St. Paul suburb) and a group of our guild members are going to the show so it would be fun to see it hanging there. At this time I don't have any other plans to show it.

Mary, I dont't think you'll have a problem being juried into the DesMoines show! After all, 4 other sets of judges can't be wrong! :!:

Once again, congratulations on the winning, Michelle and Mary (and Janet). I so much appreciate the detail photos, you've posted. It's amazing to have the opportunity to study how you chose to do it.
I get a kind of stuck feeling from seeing that exquisite quilting as the next big quilt I'm going to finish is the ruffled rose quilt. The center has been on my wall since 2011 and the rest is in a bin ready to be sewn on, but I need a span of time with no interruptions before I sew the stuff together. It's a huge quilt and I want to be able to finish it when it's gathered. I will not be able to quilt as beautiful as you two but I promise you that I will do the best I can

Okay, I'm feeling good and the weather is looking okay. So I guess I had better get a move on and head out for the show.

Beautiful quilts and lots of pictures taken. By the time I left ther was about 1/2" of slippery slush on the ground but it was all good. Came home with just a few cones of thread, rulers and fabric. YAY!!!
