Thanks so much, JoJo. However, I do not have an embroidery machine, and my sewing machine is very basic. I managed to copy and paste it to a Word doc and enlarged it by dragging the little arrows, so now it's about 4" x 4". I will probably put some clear contact paper on it after writing my name on it and then somehow get it attached to myself, probably with a safety pin, or rope around my neck .
Thanks for the suggestions and help, though.

I made a badge that I wore to some local quilt shows and will take to Houston. I enlarged the logo to about 4 inches square in PhotoshopElements. Then I put my avatar picture in the corner and my screen name centered in the bottom border. I printed this on fabric and added batting and backing. I just sandwiched them right sides together, sewed around the outside leaving an opening for turning, turned it right side out and edge stitched around the perimeter. I figured I could add more quilting later, but never did. I think having the avatar picture on the badge is helpful to remind everyone who we are since that's really how we see each other every day.

(Lena, your link didn't work for me. )
Sorry about that Margo! Not sure what happened since I pulled it from the same place, but looks like everyone is running with the ideas --- normal for this group of talented ladies (and gentlemen)!
And my signature has disappeared! I'll have to work on that later.....

I love JoJo's embroidery stuff, but I'm not so techy!! My name tag is 4" x 4" although I've seen some larger and some smaller. No rules here!!
Also...I have made a list on MS Word with TQS avatars/screen names/real names of members who have said they are going to Houston as a cheat sheet for my feeble memory! In order to do this, just right-click on the avatar, select "copy image", then go to the Word document and right-click/paste. Then I typed in the names. Hope I don't get JoJo mixed up with Dillon!

Questions for those of you that have been to this show before ---I got the info on the dinner from Lena. Is this restaurant within walking distance? We are probably like most others, from out of town and walking is our option. Our hotel is the Doubletree Hilton and a ways from the CC but we will use the shuttle. I've checked Greenlink, but it stops at 6:30. I see an option of $6 cab ride in the Downtown, is that in effect after daylight hours? What is the best way to get from the restaurant to the hotel between 8 and 10? Anyone with ideas for us.

Taxi is the way to go! They are $6 in the downtown area anytime. I will be sure to have the number handy for Yellow Cab.
There should be directions and a map at the bottom of your email from me with directions to the restaurant - it is 3 blocks from the conv center. Please send me an email if you didn't get them and I'll resend it.
We are currently at 60 for dinner :!:
I see the signatures have returned....
Also - anyone who does not mail a check or pay via PayPal by Friday AM, please plan to see me at the TQS Booth @ 8PM on Wednesday or 1PM on Thursday - I will be giving a final count to the restaurant at 2PM on Thursday for food so they prepare for the correct number. If this presents a problem for anyone, please send me an email at mailto:[email protected].

Marilyn,
I eat at the food court where the restaurant is every year. It is less than a 5 minute brisk walk, maybe 7 or 8 at a saunter. The busses run until 9:30 so if you are back at the convention center before then you can catch your bus back to the Doubletree (great hotel by the way, they make great cookies).

Wow! We went from 30 dinner atendees to 60 in a short time! I guess everyone is getting excited about now! I sure am! I'm looking forward to Margarita's Show and Tell! Is it the finished quilt top that you showed us pieces of last year and the year before? Can't wait!
