Infinite Variety: 3 Centuries of Red and White Quilts

Last weekend I visited the quilt exhibit: INFINITE VARIETY, the red and white exhibit featured in the Daily Blog recently. Stunning! Moved to tears at the display and artistry.

For anyone with an iPad, there is an app available that will allow download of all 650 quilts. A catalogue is in the works. Currently, the museum is having a photo competition that you can access from their site to view a good selection. My camera, of course, failed after the first photo. My daughter did step in and take several for me and I'll post those if I can master the process. Meanwhile, here is the link for the exhibit: http://www.folkartmuseum.org/infinitevariety Near the bottom of the page is the link to Flickr where the photos are posted, also links to articles about the exhibit (and they are a really good read!)

There is a possibility that the collection will travel (hopefully using the design team responsible for hanging it.)
If you sign up for the museum email notices we'll find out more. Maybe Houston? We can hope!

If you check the photos carefully, I believe you'll spot the quilt 'copied' by the young viewer that Alex posted in the Daily Blog - look UP!

The exhibit closes this afternoon and I do not know how long the information will be available online. Do take the time to look!

Martha Stewart showed the people behind the scenes and the process that was used to hang the show. It was amazing. Technology and the quilt display.
Turkey red, still a favorite color.

Jocelyn, thanks so much for telling us about that fascinating video!

This may be a more direct link: http://www.marthastewart.com/article...-quilt-exhibit

It would be fabulous if it could be displayed in Houston so even more people from around the world can see it!
