The Most Unusual Place You've Seen a Quilt Displayed
I want to know what is the most unusual place you've seen a quilt displayed? Or perhaps the way it was displayed was unusual, for example, the back of a horse. Show me a picture. I know Alex had one hanging at the bank and of course there are always the trees in Alden Lane Nursery. I've even seen one hanging next to the restroom at church. Can't wait to see what you've seen.

In March 2008 TQS friend SandyTN and I saw this painted horse when we went to the Mountain Quiltfest in Pigeon Forge, TN.
It's not actually fabric, but paint counts! Right??

OK....I have a theme going here...At the 2009 Houston show, I saw this elephant in a display curated by Pam Holland:

This one IS fabric! Cute!!

Rather than do landscaping or build small buildings for our garden railway when my husband began constructing it in 1995, I made some little quilts to hang on a line. THEN I started thinking about gardening. A couple of photos are at http://www.personal.psu.edu/axd2/quilt/qlt43.html

I helped my church do a simple quilt show. We asked folks to pull quilts out of the back of their closets and we displayed them over the pews. It was set up by 3 people in about 90 minutes, displayed for one day for a church festival, and put away in another hour or 2. Easy and fun!

I saw one of Ricky Tims' quilts hanging on the wall in an eye doctor's office, in the Barnes Hospital building in St. Louis.
Also, Maria Bein, wife and nurse of Dr. Norman Bein of St. Louis Vein Specialists, is the daughter of an avid Australian art quilter. So, Dr. Bein's office, waiting room, examination rooms and even the bathroom are decorated with Maria Bein's mother's art quilts on the walls in lieu of paintings. Maria gave me a tour and stories behind each quilt when I mentioned to her that I was a quilter. It was like being at a quilt show. The quilts are beautiful.
