2010 - where are the quilt shows?

Just moved to Colorado and having a hard time finding upcoming quilt shows. I can't be the only one new to an area wondering where good shows might be. Please tell us about ones you know are coming up, doesn't matter where you live.

from the beautiful Hudson Valley of NY

Violet, if you go to the community tab on the bar, one of the choices is "events". Any member can post an upcoming event. There is a search function there where you can put in a city or state.

I don't know where in CO but here is some info on upcoming ones. The Denver National Quilt Festival by Mancuso is in early May at the Merchandise Mart in North Denver. (See more about this show at http://www.quiltfest.com) The Arapahoe County Quilters has a show in early June in the south Denver area. The Colorado Quilt Council has its biannual statewide show at Quilt Colorado in Estes Park, CO in mid-June, and there is a Rocky Mtn. Quilt show in Fort Collins, CO in late August. This show has the entire Hoffman Challenge before it goes out on the road in small groups. Hope this helps!

I have a book called Quilters Travel Companion to help me find quilt shops when I travel. If you go to their site (http://www.quilterstravelcompanion.com/Home.htm) they have a section that lists quilt shows. It probably doesn't have all of them in your area, but it should help.

            Quilt show listing sites

Check your states quilt museum ... usually an affiliate of state college ... some of these list are better for just a state... your state might not be list because no one in the state posted the information.

Remember the quilt shows usually do not start until the weather breaks in the spring and in the fall... In MI there is rarely a show or exhibit till April into early June then starts up again in SEPTEMBER til holidays ending in October.

            Hope these sites help!
