    Regional/State Retreats

Earlier I posted a blog concerning Regional/State retreats and have been receiving many comments. BonnieB2 came up with the idea (need to give credit where credit is due) and I've just been running with it. Anyway there seems to be interest in this concept all across the country. One person wondered if TQS would be willing to sponsor or run with the idea. So anyone at TQS, let me know what you think. Another person suggested contacting Superior Threads to see if they would host a regional retreat. This person also has been eyeing the threadology class - can't blame her, so have I. So anyone at Superior Threads let me know what you think.

Anyway folks, I've been making a list of the people that are interested and want to hear from more of you. I'll be glad to get as involved as needed. I'm not a professional in this area nor do I have any expertise but am willing to do the work.

So let me know if you're interested, what the regional breakdown would be in your opinions, where they could be held, etc, etc, etc.... (gesh, I feel like I'm Yul Brenner). In other words any and all help is appreciated, needed, wanted (get the picture?). Bobbi

    Bobbi,
I think this is a great idea! I've never been to a retreat. Maybe a poll to find out how far people are willing to travel would help. I know I wouldn't go as far for a one nighter as I would for a full weekend.

Great idea! I am in a quilt guild and have done get away weekends. Did like it a lot.

And I have done retreats, but not for quilting. What would be the difference in this than the get away weekend?

Count me in, I live down the cape in Massachusetts.....would be nice for the summer at the cape????

Eileen & Norina, thanks for the replies and both from the East Coast. I'll try to figure out how to put a poll into an already existing forum post. I have no preconceptions as to how long a retreat would be. Guess that could be up to the folks in their specific areas and what is available. Just keep the juices flowing for suggestions. Bobbi

We have counties here rather than states

Only wish I could. If we come over, I'll let you know and you can arrange a retreat especially. (Will it include a Hubby Park?)

Eileen I think you are right. Amanda, you could set one up over there and for what size area makes sense. Sorry, I don't know what "Hubby Park" is. Bobbi

Hubby Park: Somewhere to park the Husband whilst important stuff i.e. shopping etc, is achieved.

Some of the clothing stores over here have them so the men have something to do like read car or golf magazines as things are tried on, chosen or discussed with other female types.

A couple of Quilting or Fabric shops over here are adopting the idea. It must have a good influence on Those Who Must Wait. If car show rooms have coffee machines and magazines for the girls....
