Ballet Austin is doing Cinderella this weekend. I've been there Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday night and am working the matinee today. Now I want to borrow my daugter's copy of Ever After to watch when I'm sewing.

I keep my radio tuned to country, but lately, I can't get enough of Mama Mia. I adore it and listen to many of the songs at least once a day, either sewing or while walking.

Have tickets to see Taylor Swift and Keith Urban August 2nd!!

When I'm up there thinking about quilting ( ) I usually have BBC Radio 4 on or Chillout compilation CD's or, best of all, the window open and just the bird song. (Not at night though, they're in bed then getting ready for the 4am start. )

My sewing is normally done to a mixture of Village People, Bee Gees and Neil Diamond with a bit of Robbie thrown in, trouble is, with all the jigging about, rally hard to get an accurate 1/4 inch seam!  so when something needed for good sewing, John Denver!!!

Food TV. Because it's the type of programming I can enjoy while not giving it my full attention. Or many kinds of music or just plain peace and quiet.

I listen to Pandora quite a bit...and have lots of stations programmed in....some of my favorites are Il Divo, Jim Brickman, Tim Janis, and Selah. I also love books on tape and just finished "Wicked" recently. Loved it! Sometimes I like total quiet as well, like right now.

I like working in quiet. Usually I can hear whatever DH is watching on tv-that works. Sometimes I'll listen to a book on cd. My job is just so darn noisy- I work in a casino and sometimes can't even hear myself think! So peaceful silence is my favorite environment.

Quiet, talk radio, classical music, quilting podcasts and sometimes TV news in the background if I'm on the sewing machine. If I'm hand quilting, I like to watch a good mystery or an old movie. Judy in Torrance

I have downloaded a book to my iPod and I must say, it takes a bit of re learning to actually listen and imbibe! Just so used to scan listening to a radio.

It was the same when I took a course though, to read and absorb, understand and remember is very different to scan read a novel just before bedtime!!!

It usually depends on my mood. Lately it has been the soundtrack to Twilight. sometimes it the Cantrells, or Kingdom of Heaven soundtrack, Great white T's. Other times it a podcast or a long movie. I have a wide range of taste. Pretty much anything but Rap and Opera. Right now I am listening t Creed. Cheryl

Thanks everyone for sharing! I got goosebumps reading some of your posts - good music often gives me goosebumps. I'm still trying to find my way around a bit and get to know people - music helps a lot. Of course, some of my best friends - I hate their music...

Maggie and others: thanks for reminding me about Pandora! I started an Annie Lennox station at work but then we were banned from internet radio and Annie Lennox was getting a little soft.

I need to get the internet into my quilting room. Right now I have a TV and a CD player. And silence when I want it. That way I can listen to TQS shows while I quilt.

BTW - I quilted all day Saturday (except for mowing the lawn). And I had a hockey game on part of the day. I can move Apostrophe Pops from the quilting category into the binding category. Yea!!!

Byzantine hymns this morning at the computer (no instruments allowed!) and then some with Byzantine hymns with cello and piano - how radical!

Then Peter, Paul and Mary (I actually almost made it through some PP&M songs without listening Puff the Magic Dragon ) which led to Joan Beaz and John Denver. Help, I'm trapped in the 60's! Thanks, Gloria!

Now I'm off to quilt... Maybe New Order and MGMT...

Kieth, I like the Byzantine Hymns...have you tried ancient Moorish music...for some reason, it inspires very lofty quilt designs. ;-) Cheers, Betty Jo
