    Road to California 2009

This year I was really happy to have my quilt "Pierre and Friends" displayed at Road to California 2009. It was so much fun to walk down the aisle and see all those crazy chickens just waiting for me and to see the visitors faces as they tried to make out the foreign language words scattered across the quilt. For the record, they were translations of chicken, rooster, hen, eggs, etc., into various other languages in an attempt to amuse myself. This was my first time in a larger show, and I wanted to really encourage everyone to try to enter - it was a great experience! There was no way it was going to win any ribbons against all that wonderful expertise on display, but who cares! It was just fun all around.

Congratulations Sue...I wish I could have seen your quilt. I know you must have been excited. I have entered my first show for this year in Paducah....so I'm waiting patiently until I hear if my quilt got accepted. Good for you!

I think it's wonderful when any of our TQS friends has a quilt accepted into a show. Road to California is really HOT STUFF!

And Dana, good luck. I know you won't be hearing from Paducah until March, but I'll be sending good thoughts the judges' way.
