We are in Texarkana, TX and on the way to Houston. We will stop a few days at our "address, Livingston, TX - where we almost never are at." Living on the road allows us to be wherever and the mail finds us thanks to our Livingston address. So we will meet up with from friends and then go to Houston for the Quilt Fest. Whoo Hoo we will see so many friends. It will be wonderful. Hugs, Ann

I have signed up for some classes and unfortunately some of them will be in session during the 1:00 Meet & Greet at the TQS booth, so it looks like I will only be able to make it on Wednesday and on Friday. Does anyone have a suggestion as to another place to meet at other times? Maybe near Starbucks on the second floor? It would be a place to sit and rest and chat between other activities and maybe it will be a little more quiet than in the midst of the activity on the main floor. Unless someone has a different idea, I will be checking the area around Starbucks a couple of times a day. Hope to see some of you there!

OOPS! I just realized that the first Meet & Greet won't be until Thursday! So....I'll see you on Friday!!

I arrive around 1PM on Weds.(Landing) staying at the Club Quarters and I too will be busy both Thursday and Friday at 1PM. Starbucks sounds like a great idea, we can check email on our phones at the same time - they have free Wi-Fi. Now there are two Starbucks locations, one near the entrance to the hotel and one sort of in the middle - near the open terrace on one of the floors.

We should specify ONE location and think about a convenient time. Before they open -coffee to charge our batteries or mid afternoon for a snack. either one sounds good.

Thanks Denise! I wasn't aware of the one near the hotel and was thinking about the one near the open air terrace but couldn't remember if it's on the second floor or the third. :? I have classes that start at 9AM on most days and will plan to wait near Starbucks until time to go to class. All my other classes are so random that it would be hard for me to be consistant later in the day, but when I need a break.....I'll head for Starbucks!

I will be in Houston for classes starting on the the 12th of October and know that people are coming in soon after that; If you will post the times and days that you are coming in here or email me I will be more than happy to try to figure out times that we can get together. The "sort of " normal time is at the TQS booth at 1:00 p.m. each day but if you let me know about a different time or place I will try to get the word out. Just EVERYBODY WEAR YOUR TQS BADGE prominatly so we will know who you are!!!!!! Hugs, Ann (you will see my badge easily.)

Ann, I will be there on the 12th also, but will be riding into town with friends and don't know how much earlier than 9 they will be going in so that I can get to Starbucks! Hope to see you there!

It will be easier for me to make the 9am meet than the others.

I'm going to be riding a bus to festival on Sunday with a group of local quilters. This is my first time to festival and my first time to ride a bus! There won't be time for classes and since I'm also going to quilt market I should be able to see the quilt displays there so will spend most of Sunday at vendor's booths. I hope to see some of you there.

Margo, classes have a lunch break each day--8 am classes break from 11-2 and 9 am classes break from 12-2. So if you eat fast you can still make the 1 p.m. TQS meeting. Some people like to stay and work during the lunch break and that's not always allowed but it's good to get out and walk around during the lunch break.

The Starbucks at the GRB is on the second floor, right at the end of the walkway from the Hilton.

I work market and festival for Quilts Inc and am usually busy at 1 p.m. but I'll try like crazy to get down there if I can. I will definitely be hanging around the booth Wed night, preview night. That's were I met you and Sue and Dana last year! Safe travels--I leave tomorrow so it's time to go pack right now!

Maybe Starbucks isn't what I was thinking? I keep picturing that nice area just inside the outside dining patio. We can decide on a definite meeting place and let the folks manning the TQS booth aware of it so they can direct anyone who asks!

I think that there are 2 places that sell Starbucks coffee at the GRB on the 2nd floor. The one on the far right, as you face the building from the front, has the wi-fi and is a Starbucks. The other one only sells Starbucks coffee. I made this mistake last year!

That is of course, if it is still the same!

                        See you all soon!

I love Suzan Engler's idea in the Member Blog about adding a photo to the admission pass!! I've got mine printed out and think it would be great if everyone could do it! Especially the ones who are using profile pictures that don't show their faces clearly. Hmmmm. Maybe I don't need one?? LOL!!!

Hello everyone!! Count down has started to Houston Quilt Fest!! Yeah! I blogged about the TQS dinner last night, but thought that not everyone reads the blogs.

We will meet Thursday evening, Oct 15th at 7. There is a Mexican food restaurant behind the Hyatt, that Dana and I ate at last year. The food was excellent!

I kind of wanted to get a head count before I made reservations. Hanne-Grete and I will be in Houston Monday, so I can run by and make final reservations then.

I will call on Fri for tentative reservations.

Please let me know if you would like to join us for dinner...we might have a special guest!!!
                                Happy Quilting,
