Hello everybody, It is so quiet where are you all gone?
My Kaffe Fassett quilt is finish you can see him in my profile.
This quilt I learn to make in a workshop with Kaffe Fassett and Brandon Mably. It was lots of fun and I learned overcome my fear for using bright colors. Well I think I did a great job.
My next will be one of Ricky Tims!!!!!!! I hoop so.
:?: I need a little Help me with my English!!!! When do you right to and when too It is a little confusing.
Lots of love from rainy Belgium

Duffy - your Kaffe Fassett quilt is bright AND beautiful!! I think it would brighten up a rainy Belgium sky right away. Your English is fine....we all seem to understand you and your enthusiasm (excitment) comes across very well. It has been quiet around here hasn't it? We are all just waiting for Ricky....waiting for Ricky....waiting.....tick,tick,tick.

English is confusing no matter if you were taught it from birth or not, lol. We just have too many words spelled the same but with different meanings (or spelled different but sound the same) and lets face it, we talk backward of what almost every other language does. Your English is just fine Duffy, in fact better than some I know that have lived in the states all their lives. Its your heart and enthusiasm for what you do and love that thrills me every time I see your posts, and while I admit I chuckle once in a while with a misspelling or wrong word I only have to remind myself that I have never been able to learn another language and that you are doing a fantastic job.
As for your question of which to write - to or too, here is a little rule. If it describes something (too wide, too narrow, too tall, too many) its two o's, the rest of the time it is just one.

Hello Liiddz
Have you checked on Ricky's website...go to his quilts and you will see his rhapsodies. They show how he fills his applique spaces. Now that all the new shows are taped, perhaps in his next rhapsody blogs, he will be getting to the applique part. Also, if you have his book from any seminar, his instructions are quite clear in there as to how to design an applique.
I have a bit of my applique designed on the rhapsody-in-progress that I have posted on my profile. I appliqued them with the blanket stitch as he does, and am practically finished. Next comes sewing the units together and sandwiching and quilting. That's the part that is going to take a bit of thought yet.

Well Ladies, thank you for all your helpful suggestions, however, would it still be a rhapsody if I didn't fill in all the spaces?ops: :? I am very new at applique, "first applique project here"...
Dorene, unfortunately, I haven't been to his workshops yet. Ricky maybe next year you can come to PA. In the meantime I'm counting the yards of fabric I won't be able to buy so I can plan on attending the NY seminar in MAY.
Joy, are you up north? I'm in Philadelphia. you can email me off list...Lissette

Lissette, I think it woud be a Rhapsody with whatever applique you choose for it to have. If you look at Ricky's Bohemian Rhapsody, it is covered with applique...but his Fire Dragon Rhapsody only has applique in a few of the areas....so I think it is up to you to decide what it needs. Yours is beautiful.
I was in Ricky's Rhapsody classes for three days in Paducah a couple of weeks ago (and I might add that the classes were beyond wonderful)......there were 20 people in the class and it was really interesting to watch each drawing become pieces of fabric on the wall. They were all so different. I just wish I could have seen applique on them because that changes the look very much. This is so much fun!
