Well, well, well....... I had no idea there was a quilt shop pretty close to where I live. But thanks to a TQS member I went in search of 'Wisteria Cottage' today. Now, you'd expect there to be some sort of sign, but not for this place. It must be the best kept secret in the East Midlands, hidden away in a wooden shed in the grounds of a working farm. I couldn't believe what I found: Very impressive range of fabrics and lots of other bits and pieces. I better live on bread and water for a couple of weeks after todays little spending spree.

All I can say: If you are in the area North-East of Newark, look for the village of Swinderby, and then keep your fingers crossed that you can find this little gem.

Actually Lorchen, Its called Chestnut Farm. The patchwork & quilting bit (Wisteria Patchwork) takes its name from the shop that the owner, Lyn Carter, had when she lived 'down south'. I'm so glad you went. It really is an Aladin's cave. Did you get directions from the website? Did you see Tilly - The black laborador who is presently 'with child' or should I say 'many childs'. Glad I could let you know about it. Maybe we can oneday meet up there.

I am sick as a parrot, up here north of the Humber. Wisteria Cottage looks as if it is really close to where I used to live in Bingham, but now is some 80 miles away

Sorry about changing the name of the farm..... oak, chestnut, willow.... whatever..... I wish the owner would nail a quilt to the farm entrance when the shop is open.

Didn't see anybody, human or pregnant canine. But there was a very nice lady in the shop (not the owner).

I would like to see some quilt shops like this one profiled in Quilt Sampler Magazine--maybe another issue for shops in England, France, etc. Wouldn't that be fun? Judy in Torrance
