Susan,
You asked about the whole cloth in the background of my mug rug from Norma. Well it's a class project that is complete except for binding--what you saw is the back but a picture of the front is below. The class was a 5 day retreat sponsored by M's Quilt Shop here in Wickenburg. Instructor was Cindy Needham, and the class was wonderful. It was so nice to be able to go to something close to home but where we could spend the whole day just learning and sewing. She does have a class on the Craftsy site that I purchased just so that I could review whenever I wanted to. I had never done anything like this before but with Cindy's handouts, written instruction book and demonstrations it was a delight

I wasn't behind in posting just one photo but here is another Mug Rug I recieved from Marilynn. She wouldn't have known that I have a very, very special relationship with Pine Trees. How nice it is to have an Idaho White Pine in my sewing room. I wonder if Marilynn was thinking about Hershey Kisses coming from Pennsylvania. I lived in Hershey for a short peroid of time when my husband and I were first married. What a special Mug Rug this one is for me.
Marilynn, I also love potatoes, Idaho or any other kind! Thanks.

I'm away from home for a few days, looking at beautiful Parker's Creek in Onancock, VA, a forced respite from the bird quilt.
soooooooooo, I get to catch up on all the Lounge Lizards.
Limbania, I hope your next two months go as reasonably as can be expected. Yeah for Mom's and family, right? Your positive attitude is an inspiration to me!
Ritzy and Marilyn, GreaT mug rugs!
Jane, thanks for posting the picture of your Cindy quilt. It's beautiful! Her Craftsy class ranks as a tie 1st place with Jane Dunnewold's in my favorite classes. I watch her's over and over, she makes everything so clear. Actually, I decided to try her scribbling technique in a portion of my bird quilt to make clouds and it turned out really well. How nice that you could have a class close to home. She has a retreat place on Northern California that I've been eye-balling for awhile, but it would be a bit on the expensive side to get there.
While I'm here away from home, I'll be working on a bird rubber stamp ala Geninne D Zlatkis instructions in making an impression, Designing and Creating Artful Stamps. It's a beautiful book, loaded with her beautiful designs for our use. Check out her blog, http://blogdelanine.blogspot.com/
Geninne is one of my favorite non-quilting artists who blogs very frequently from her homes in Mexico, built by her architect/builder husband. Her blog is beautiful.
The stamp will be used on the back of the bird quilt, if it works out. Eight days til deadline! I'll post some more details before I mail it, but feel funny about posting the whole thing before it goes to auction.
Lois, you'll almost right, my inspiration was "Sing a Song of Sixpence", only my 20 black birds "ate" a cherry pie! The theme is 20.
Cheers to all the Lizards

More great muggies... Fab, fab, fab!
Great quilt, Jane
Hurrah for family! Hang in there Limbania. That too shall pass, and I'm looking forward to our next visit by TQS jet! Will be with you in spiritM
Off for a quick visit to Vermont today, hoping my packages are all there ready to be picked up. Don't know if I'll manage a side trip to Joanne's in St. Albans but if not today, then certainly next week. My friend Kathy lost her dad last Thursday night. Steve has always looked out for me and I'm so sorry to have missed him, but he was spared a long illness and his timing is giving me extra time with Katt, our elder brother Kevin and mom. ( when I was In my teens, I spent almost as much time at Kathy's and our friend penny's as I did at home). Will be driving Kevin home to Ottawa tomorrow. And then coming back with Katt on Monday - so I'll get to see penny and her kids over the weekend. Although all our families are still here, we've all spread out ( in more ways than one )... And it's sometimes difficult to see everyone on a visit 'home'.Lotti, Kuessnacht - Switzerland
