I agree with Nancy, Ritzy, I'd love to exchange mug rugs with your daughter too!

Ritzy, "She's her mother's daughter" is what I thought when I saw your daughter's mug rugs! Though they have their own style and sense of fun. The recipients are lucky!

Ditto from me, Ritzy. Your daughter has tons of talent! How fun to be able to share this experience with her!

Lois--maybe it was an email I sent you. If I am thinking of the same one you are: I had to take all the lights off the tree and put them back on but to plug them in I had to crawl under the tree and then had to have DH pull me out by the legs. I was glad Kathy wasn't around to record it.

Ritzy--let your daughter know that I really like her mug rugs. She has her own style and it is very attractive.

Ritzy your daughter's mug rugs are beautiful - guess she didn't lick it off the stones eh?

I have been very quiet for the past couple of weeks because I was away working and when I got back I was in a race against time to get seven small wall-hangings done for my siblings and parents for Christmas. A Christmas star for everybody and each one different. I had great fun making them and used Carol Doak's Foundation Factory to paper piece the stars. But instead of paper I used Ricky Tims stable stuff so that I wouldn't have to spend time tearing out the papers. I loved being able to swop around different units to make each star different.

Now all I have to do is, ice the Christmas cake, make the trifle, cranberry sauce, wrap all the presents, clean the house.....you know, the usual.

So from a very windy and just started snowing Wicklow Ireland, A VERY VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL.

                      Beautiful stars, Rita.

I've just got home after finishing work for Christmas. Fortunately the presents got wrapped last night, but the kitchen looks like a total nightmare, with an oil slick on top of the cooker
Oh well, anything that isn't sorted out by this evening can keep until Thursday when I will have time to deal with it :P

Renata your mug rug to Norma is gorgeous; it would have been a lovely surprise for Norma. Susan I love your Ewe for Wendy – it just suits her.

Rita your starts are terrific. What lovely presents. I have been finishing off some things as well – a Christmas wall hanging, a bag and some zippered pouches.

More storms are here and more due in Scotland. The last one the other week took my chimney pot off and lifted half my garage roof and damaged it. I hope the new storms don’t lift it right off and onto my car. I have had to wait on surveyors to come and see the damage but now all the workmen are on holiday until 6th January so goodness knows when things are going to be fixed.

A lot of travel disruption with people trying to get home for Christmas but because of the storms, torrential rain and flooding a lot of services has been cancelled. At least at the moment I still have power.

A Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to everyone. Best wishes for 2014

I love your wall hanging Maureen. Lets hope the weather doesn't get so bad that you are left roofless. It is very very strong here this evening - just hoping the electricity doesn't get knocked out. But Christmas by candlelight would be fine too, and we could always barbecue the turkey. (I would be happy with just the trifle and the Christmas cake. )

Just don't forget to leave the Guiness out for Santa, we need to make sure that he is snuckered (or what ever the spelling is - I am a 'british'* pint into some perry and past caring) before he hits the US :P 8)

                                1 british pint = 20 fl oz.
