Rita, we're praying for your daughter fast and full recovery. Some extra vitamin C and B might help speed up her recovery and energy level.
Here's a link that might be of help http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/mononucleosis.html. Apple cider vinegar, baking soda, salt water and virgin coconut oil seem to be of help to ease the symptoms. Hope this helps.

The Red Fury is an interesting quilt. I'm not too good at putting things on paper. I have to play with ideas in my mind and "see" them there first. There are 2 main things that grabbed my attention, color -other than the red- and the block she used, well, there's a third thing, texture. The fabric colors/print give it a textured look. At least that's how I see it in my screen.
I'm really curious to find out how this exercise will develop and how each of us interpret the inspiration quilt.

NancyOriginally posted by RenataNancy, I'm not sure at all about the name of each individual quilt... When I read Red Fury in the "play session" that we are doing, I felt I was being influenced by the name even more than the picture (because the quilt was soooo abstract! and it could happen in the real challenge) and had to make a concerted effort to see what the picture was speaking to me. If, in the real challenge, the photo comes without caption, then it would make sense that the pieces are not named, but I'm really making all this up! I have no idea what the true intent was. It is, however, a great question, one that we might get some guidance on. But I have to say that I had to try hard to keep Red Fury, the title, out of my head as I was trying to interpret the actual quilt.
I was wondering about labels as well. I will find this out either today or tomorrow and let everyone know. I agree that the name could influence the next quilter.
There will be no name on the photograph.
I agree with Renata that a name would stick in my head and would be in the forefront of my mind over seeing the quilt.

Oh Maureen, you must be so excited. And so we begin.
I will be curious to see about labeling our quilts. It hadn't struck me before but I do now see how the name of a quilt can affect how we perceive it.
Thank you all for your kind wishes for my daughter. Limbania, thank you for the website link. I had a look at it and was pleased to see the good effect that pure coconut oil can have. I use it to fry chicken quite a bit. I have just made a hot drink for Ailsha with EVCO (extra virgin coconut oil) and elderberry syrup (my own) which she thinks is hideous but she will drink it as her throat is very very uncomfortable and preventing her from sleeping at night. I will let you know if it improves her condition. We are trying to get as many foods that are good for the liver into her at the moment in the hopes that it will improve before the next blood test on Friday. So spinach soup for lunch today.

Marilyn - I'm like you in that I'm not good at planning and sketching out a design. For something like this, I think I need to work more improvisationally. I've looked at the "Red Fury" quilt and know in my head what I would do if that were my inspiration quilt (which I'll share when we get to that point). But I don't plan on taking the time to sketch out my idea since I have other things I need to work on. But I'm really happy that I have an idea in my head that I would be able to make into a quilt if this were my inspiration quilt! And I think I wouldn't have a problem building it and refining it along the way to get my final quilt done in my 51 day window.
