Thanks for all the encouragement. I am feeling a little bit better. I had a number of plans that were just too complex. The complexity involved required more than practice. It required experience and time I do not have. I really believe what they say about productivity being the best way to develop as a quilter. I know that I am better at construction skills than designing. Now it feels as if I may have a plan that is doable. Hopefully, I still believe I have a plan when I get up in the morning.

Rosemary, I agree that picking work from the gallery as inspiration is a great idea. I too wish we had kept it going. I wouldn't mind doing that again when I finish this project. But then their is that long list of Projects-In-Waiting (not yet begun), not to mention UFO's. I have enough of PIW's & UFO's for a few lifetimes.

Ok, here goes, quilt number 700 in the gallery, we don't have to make the idea up in fabric, but lets see what ideas we can come up with from it's inspiration

Yes that is it, I just went & found the page it was on, so we could have a browse at some of the earlier quilts too, whilst we were at it

Do you mean make our 'interpretation' of it, like you gals are doing with the CW quilts? Not follow the exact pattern, but our interpretation of it - what it 'means' or makes us think about?

Yes, Wendy, but an eight-hour day for me is probably a three-hour day for you with your experience! And just because I resolved to work that long every day, my productive time was probably less than half of that, with all the practicing, breaks and piddling around I did... I suspect that people like you and Rita will knock a beautiful quilt out of the park in 20 days flat, no problem!

Yep, exactly that. Use the quilt as your source of inspiration to come up with another one, using the colours, patterns or quilting. You don't have to make it! but think about how you would use it and then come back and tell us your ideas. If you end up doing a pencil sketch all well and good - you know how much we all like pictures

When we tried it last year we were doing 1 per week, and taking it in turns to choose quilts. Unless you can think of another time frame that would suit?

1 week was good last time, let's stick with that.
