    Sorting Queens say Thanks

Clara here. I wanted to open up a new topic to express my thanks to everyone who has opened up their heart and literally shared it with me. I have been blown away recently by notes, fabric, hugs, handmade items, and so many other amazing gestures just to say thank you to me. We shared a journey together with the Sisterhood of the Traveling Triangle Exchange that was unique and will always stay with me and many others.

I just received a box at tonight's TQS dinner that was filled with blocks from all over the world and states of the US. Even the box was handmade with poems inside, the lyrics to Sorting Queen and yes, a recorded version of Sorting Queen. (hint, the box was made by the same lady who made the hat) I can't seem to get my thoughts together right now to express the gratitude I feel. To Everyone who was involved in that project, sorting hat, cards, fabric, extra HSTs, handmade postcards, even a card for my hubby too, I say with my hand over my heart (not while I'm typing of course)... Thank you! Sniff.

I will write again, when I am at home and will post some photos to share. This was something I will cherish forever.

Clara Lawrence aka Sorting Queen

Just to let everyone know, TQS will be posting a Smilebox on the Daily Blog of all of the blocks, in a little over a week. If you have not kept up with the exchange; I contacted one person in every state in the US, every country, every territory in Australia, and every province in Canada that had participants in the HST exchange, and asked them to make a quilt block representing their state, country, province, or territory, to present to Debbie and Clara as a "Thanks" from all of us. These blocks were then mailed to me and I assembled them into two loosly ringed books that were carefully placed into some awesome boxes that Rosemary (PosyP) from England made and shipped to the US. This was one of most gratifying projects I have ever worked on, and I want to thank all who participated! I have made so many wonderful friends through the hundreds of emails that it took to put this together. And, the best part? It was a secret to the very end! And, I want to thank Barbara Marcone, my partner in this project, who asked, "What can we do to say "Thank You?"

                  Clara,

It was a pleasure to participate in the exchange and also to participate in the gifts for you and Debbie. I had the pleasure of making the blocks from NC and thanks so much for showing all the blocks so that we could see what everyone made for you ladies. Happy quilting everyone!!

I believe Scoopie is making a smilebox of all the blocks and will try and get it on the TQS blog. Keep a lookout. That's a lot of blocks.

Clara, a bazillion thank you's for everything you did as "Sorting Queen" to make this a fantastic memorable quilting event for the TQS members who participated in the SoTTT exchange! We all wanted to thank you and Debbie and all of your volunteer helpers for doing such a great job! Can't wait to see Dawn's Smilebox presentation of the quilt blocks too! HAPPY DANCE! I have to tell you a cool story or I should say a very sweet one. My son, Mikey made a necklace for his Grandma recently. His first one. He saw yours after I got back and inspected it so very closely. Asked what the little bits were in the jar and who gave it too me. He smiled and said she did a very nice job. There is a lot of love in this. He amazes me all the time. Thought you might like that.

Thank you, Clara, for that sweet story! I truly appreciated reading it! Your Mikey is a "class act"! 8) Both of you just made my day! Please tell Mikey I'd be happy to swap jewelry stories anytime he wants to!

                              Hugs to both of you!
