I will take it upon myself to say that if you can get a photo of how you expect to sew your top together, that will work for the prototype edition! As soon as you have your quilt finished, send new photos to Carol for the final draft. Go ahead and send her your write-up, and if it needs to be replaced, send a new one with the final photos.
In the meantime....I'll share this with Carol, and if she says differently, you can take it out of my pay!

UPDATE FROM CAROL
Hi Margo, I would like to have at least a finished top. It does not need to be quilted or have the borders on, but just a good representation of what the final project will look like. I would also like to have their story.
I want the prototype to give everyone that looks at it to be inspired with ideas for their HST's with projects that are 90-100% complete. I am hoping that will encourage all that participated in the exchange to make something with their HST's and Strips by Jan. 1, if they see what others are doing with them.

I still need a bit of clarification.
If I can't make the prototype deadline of Sept 1, or soon after, can I submit a finished quilt by the Jan 1 deadline to be included in the printed book? I'm going to be really close on finishing the top in 5 or 6 more days, but I probably can finish, quilt, and bind in 4 months. I'm going to give my best try either way - just post up here so I'll know whether to photograph & do a writeup.

ABSOLUTELY!! Carol just wants to be able to show what the final book could include and to encourage everyone to keep working to make the final deadline. We want as many projects as possible in the book!Originally posted by JaneVAI still need a bit of clarification.

As soon you get your top done, you might want to send Carol a note and ask if she can accept a late entry for the prototype. I'm not sure what her final cut-off date is, but she did say that she's extending the deadline for a few people.

Whew! I have the binding hand stitched on one side of my quilt, only three sides to go. Hope to finish my "Garden Path" today. Now, I wonder where/how I can hang it to get a good picture. It is 88x100, so my 8 foot design wall will not hold it. I will have to move things around to get a good shot of it too. I will try to post the picture here when I get it. I am not too good with computers, so will have alittle learning to do there too. Thankfully my neice is here to help me with that part. Good luck to all. Can't wait to see the book. Well, I think I will pop a chick flick in the TV, get comfortable, and sew.

YES!!! Read page one for all of Carol's guidelines! http://forum/friendship-triangle-exc...our-exchanges-Originally posted by coolmama21719Now I'm confused. If I don't make the Sept. 1 deadline, I could still make the later deadline with a finished quilt and be included?

Good Morning Everyone,
Margo emailed me yesterday and mentioned there was a bit of confusion with what can be submitted for the prototype (sample copy) of the SOS SoTTT/Strips Exchange book. I know many of us have jobs, so if it would help to get them finished, you can have the Labor Day weekend to work on them. So if you can get them submitted to me by Sept 6th you can still be included for the prototype.
So, If you are very close to completion, yes send me your pictures and story for the prototype.
Here are a few examples to help clarify if you are almost done to be included in the prototype (sample) book, but will not have your project completed ...
1. If you can get your top completed but not quilted by Sept 6th that would be fine for the prototype.
2. If you can get your top completed but don't have time to put the borders on that would also be fine for the prototype.
3. If you can get your top quilted but do not have time to bind that would be fine for the prototype.
For the final version, it will need to be totally finished. Quilted, binded, lable on back, story and photographed by the Jan. 1 deadline.
And if you don't have time to get something done for the prototype, that is okay. If you get your project finished by the final deadline of Jan 1, you will be included in the final version. You just need to submit your completed project by Jan 1 to be included in the book/dvd.
I hope that helps clear up some of the confusion.
Thanks again Margo for watching the forum and letting me know. I don't visit the forum on a regular basis so I appreciate Margo helping me so much with this. She is a sweet heart!!!!
Have a great day eveyone!!!
Carol
