My broken arm is out of the sling, and into physical therapy! Last x-ray was good, which means I am free to move, which led me directly to my Bernina. . While I waited for my broken humerus to heal, I was able to complete a couple of small projects by holding a stiletto in the fingers of my left hand, which prevented complete "quilter's withdrawal". I am back to my hst quilt, with the goal of having it ready before the January deadline for the book. I really enjoyed looking at the pictures being posted while I was "mending". Beautiful quilts!

Jean, you can still make the deadline for the "real" book! Read the details of the info that Carol needs here:

Good Afternoon Everyone. I am waiting for my flight back home from Houston and had a little time to send a note. It sounds like a number of you are working really hard to get your HST exchange and Strip Exchange projects done. Well, I have some very good news for those of you that are afraid that you may not make the Jan. 1, 2012 deadline. IT HAS BEEN EXTENDED. Yes, that is correct. The deadline has been adjusted and the new revised date in May 1, 2012. So relax and take a deep breath. You will get them finished and you can still have them included in the S.O.S. HST/Strippers Keepsake book/DVD.

There were be an official announcement coming shortly on the Daily Blog and in the newsletter.

Carol, That is great news! Maybe I'll get at least one more, if not both, quilts done in time! Really appreciate all the work which I know is going into this project....looking forward to hearing about your perspective of Houston once you get home and have a chance to recuperate! Nancy

                          Carol,

Thank you so much for extending the deadline! Now I don't have to worry about rushing it. I was so happy I had a chance to visit with you several times during festival. You are so sweet and I am very excited about the memory book.

I hope the wedding is beautiful and that you can relax and enjoy every moment of it.

Oh, what a relief! I didn't know how I could get it done in time! I have the top for the HST's nearly complete, but wanted to lovingly hand quilt it "just so". Very good news!

Whoo-hoo! Now, after all, I won't have to hurry and can do it 'as well as I can', rather than 'as fast as I can'!

Please, all you show-goers, I suggest someone open up a topic to tell us all about Houston!

I wonder if you all can hear my MAJOR *sigh* of relief I knew I wouldn't be able to get the SOTTT quilt done in time (since I haven't even started), and I was feeling sad because this has been such a wonderful experience, and the memory book is something I just didn't want to miss. YAY!!!

I do have my Sensational Stripper quilt basted and ready to quilt... but I'm feeling so much better knowing I can still get the SOTTT done too!!!
