Dear SoTTT’s
Easiest way to document is to
Separate by State, & Country. Then go into excel and type in States on one sheet (I did Canada separately & Countries on a different sheet). When you are done typing in just the States hit the icon on the top that will sort all your States alphabetically. Then you can go back & enter the rest of the information easier, like the city in the next column , following column # of HST’s and next you can check Print next column check Batik, etc whichever order you want the info. Then at the bottom you can hit the icon for sum and it will auto add up the total for you of whatever column you highlight from the top. So you can add up any column that you put a numerical number in.
If you want to double check when you separate your HST’s by color you can recheck them by re-counting them by stacks of 10’s (is the easiest) and write the total on the outside of a plastic bag on a small label w/ pen. Writing color, prints # and Batik’s #. When you are done sorting you can add those numbers up that are on the outside of your plastic bags again and see if it matches up with your excel sheet but there is no reason it shouldn’t.
I am going to keep all of the papers and put them in a little book with our stories to go with the quilt for historical documentation myself and keep a few extra HST’s for any future repairs that may be necessary like I do with all my quilts. Everyone’s name and City and/or State will go on the back & after watching Ricky & Alex’s trip to Marsha’s (Alex’s first quilting instructor) and her sister’s house in CA I am going to think very differently about what kind of label to put on the back. That was a really neat show!! I loved it!! I sent away for two of her books after watching the show; on Machine quilting, one for me & one for my daughter.

I'm not sure if I am over or under as yet, and it really doesn't matter, as I know I am very close to the 616 I sent in! BUT, I would really love to have one from ME, MS, SD, LA and West Virginia. I am missing these states. So, if you received multiples from these states and would like to trade for some of mine, just send me an email, and we can do an exchange! Thank you so-o-o-o much, in advance!

I received my much anticipated package today, and it was very much worth waiting for! Thank you, THANK YOU to Debbie, Clara and all who assisted along the way.
I have 28 more than I sent in, so will be happy to send some duplicates to anyone who came up short.

I am so excited!!! I have finally been able to sort through all my HSTs from the 2 exchanges, and guess what!!! Of the ones which were signed with a name and location, I have 329 different individuals, 45 states and 8 countries represented!!!! WOW!!! Now, here's a challenge....I'd like to get representation from those 5 'missing' states: Arkansas, Hawaii, Delaware, Rhode Island, and Oklahoma. Were there any participants from those states? If so, may I send you a SASE and a HST so that I can receive a HST from you representing your state?
Thanks!

I have 4 HSTs from Scotland, and was wondring if anyone needed one. I would love to exchange one for S. Korea, Netherlands, and/or Finland. I am one of those who came up about 30 short, (I still have about 580 HSTs, sent 616) but since It will be ages before I ever get to sew them into anything, I'm content with just playing with what I have received.I'm just sad that I actually have 53 unsigned!
Update - Thanks to Fiberwoman, I am no longer short! This is such a caring, giving group! Thank, thank you, thank you!!!

:P :P Hi Barbara. I also thought I didn't get an hst from Alex. One of the blank ones in my Golden Ticket pack was signed by Alex on the right side of the fabric and not on the paper. RT also signed the fabric. I love it!!! It will show on the front of the quilt now. Take a look and see if you got one like mine.

Sue
I don’t need the whole Golden Ticket pack but I didn’t get one from Alex Anderson-I would be forever grateful if you could send me hers if you have it. As I understand it we were each suppose to get one from her & I got two blank blocks in my golden ticket bag.
If so, let me know via e-mail & I will send you my address & money for mailing
Thanks,
Barbara

I received duplicates from England, Germany, Australia, and Canada. If anyone has an HST from countries other than those or New Zealand, Switzerland, the Netherlands, or Scotland, I am willing to swap 2 for one. Also if anybody still needs a signed Alex Anderson HST, I have an extra, so please email me and we'll arrange for you to get one, too!

HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM and I'm appealing to all of our Sisterhood members who received a lot of extra HST's to help! One of our members, JUANITAB, was supposed to have had 617 HSTs returned to her, but her return envelope only contained 216.
Since we had no extras, neither Clara nor I received as many as we turned in. I only got 300 and I told Juanita I would send her those, but I've already taken the papers off and pressed them open, so I don't know if they will mean that much to her like that. If you have a few extras, especially some that you received duplicates of, please contact her and she can send you her address.
I'm confident that between all of us, we should be able to get close to what she's missing.
Thank you so much!

Hi Debbie, I had sent an e mail to one of the SOTTer's who was short, but she hasn't replied to me yet. If she doesn't reply by tomorrow, I will be glad to send 27 extras to the onewith 216. I haven't pressed too many of them open, so some would be untouched and some pressed or pressed and labels removed.
