I think it could be a tonal print. I don't think I have ever seen batiks in the neutral colors we are talking about. I am sure they are out there--I just haven't seen them yet. Right now we are up to nine people for this exchange. I am going to give it at least another week and then discuss what we will all need to know and do. Sound ok?

      Ritzy,
Add me to the list of those interested in doing batiks & cream HST's. I have some batiks in off white, cream colors but they are hard to find. A couple of large quilt shops in MN stock them: Gruber's in St Cloud, MN & Blue Bamboo in Plymouth, MN. I have also ordered from Hancock's of Paducah- they have a nice selection of white tones, off white, creamy colored batiks. I also ordered papers today.

After the Sisterhood HST exchange is over, I'd be interested in a strip exchange that could be used to make several of the quilts in Edyta's book, Friendship Strips & Scraps, including the Farmhouse Quilt and the Spool Quilt. And batiks would be beautiful for that exchange.

              thanks

I would say that a tone on tone would be OK, Jeanine.

Is this the cream color you are looking for? If so I have plenty and will join the group.

I would also be interested in the stripy exchange when it happens.

Ladies, I think a strip exchange would be wonderful (after the Sisterhood HST exchange, of course). Who doesn't have plenty of strips lying around. Like you two, I think the spool quilt and farmhouse quilts are adorable! Will have to add some applique though - can't help it... I just ordered Edyta's Friendship Strips & Scraps book. It just looked like too much fun.

Count me in. I would love to do a batik with cream. I have a couple of cream batiks. Can we use brights with the cream? and supply them in lots of 8 in the same colour? that way you can make star points out of the same colour ways.
                                Thanks for organising this Ritzy.
