Reading through the Forum, it seems that any good quality fabric can be used for the exchange. I have some Liberty Lawn fabric and wondered if it would be acceptable as it is slightly thinner than the norm but good quality?

Someone way back mentioned that International senders could send the postage amount, say $13.95 by Paypal as all you need is an email address but nobody answered that. Is it possible or is that giving someone extra work?

Maureen, we're trying to figure out-of-country options, one which may or may not include PayPal (but please don't count on PayPal). At this point, it looks like the International Reply Coupons and Flat Rate packages are the best option. The International Reply Coupons which can be purchased at your post office and sent in with your package along with a completed mailing label. The cost to mail the small International Flat Rate package is $13.95 U.S. The smallest flat rate box is 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" x 7-1/2" and the envelope is 9-1/2" x 12-1/2", both of which should be sufficient if you're not sending too many. The International Reply Coupon would need to be convertable to $13.95 U.S. A few pages back in the post, maybe somewhere in the 40-49 page range, a member posted links to the U.S. Postal Service along with information she has found.

a 'sot' as I understand it is a habitual drunkard ops: Although it could be drunk with excitement I suppose considering how many have come out of the woodwork and made their first posts to join in.

Sorry - didn't mean to offend!!! But after all, we ARE all drunk with excitement about getting the triangles done and exchanged! Am I understanding correctly - joining closes at midnight tonight, but triangles can be sent later?? Have only just ordered the papers from Edyta's site and our post is slow at the moment!

WOW... this is so exciting and what a great come together of such great people!
I already submitted that I want in and I would do 4 sheets so don't count me twice, but I have a question.
If I manage to make more than 4 sheets can I send them or am I limited to the 4 sheets?

You're not limited to four...if you want to send more that's fine.

TO ALL MEMBERS: Once again, we just need everyone to clearly mark on their baggies, mailing envelope/box how many you've sent (remember you're all on the honor system here, so count carefully...HONOR AMONG THE SISTERHOOD AND BROTHERHOOD!!!) because we won't be able to count them once we receive them for distribution.

Also include your screen name on the baggie and on the outside of the mailing envelope/box...that way I can send you a quick reply from your Profile page that I received it. If you don't do that, I won't be able to let you know they were received.

All of the quilt designs that Edyta has in her book are 2" finished. They are small but very effective when all that scrappiness is combined into one project.

Has anyone heard about their order from laundrybasketquilts? I ordered last Sunday, and have not received confirmation that they received my order and I emailed Edyta, and no reply....

Same here. I'm sure they are busy with all the orders.

I first ordered my papers a week ago Monday when Edyta's show aired and I received them the following Friday (within the U.S.). But that was before the exchange became a reality. Based on how many members say they are ordering from Edyta, I'm sure they are inundated getting the orders shipped. We are keeping Edyta apprised of the scope of the exchange, so she does know to keep those orders going out.

Because so much of the exchange will be affected by the postal service speed, we will be somewhat flexible on our deadline of April 1 in receiving the HST's. If you send me an email when you ship it (through my Profile Page, not posted on the Forum), I will know your package is on it's way and we'll wait on it before we start our distribution. Obviously it will take more time to receive International packages, so please try to get them mailed as soon as you have them ready.

Hi ladies, isn’t this fun!
This posting is regarding the sending of international postage from America to Australia, but it may apply to the other international participants.
My screen name is Liesje, and I'm from Australia. I have just come back from the post office and had a long discussion with the "Man" in charge. All we can do from Australia is buy American Postage Coupons, which Debbie, Clara and team would then have to take into the post office at their end to exchange for postage stamps, as we can not buy the stamps here. This will mean a lot of extra work on their part. The postmaster suggests that the Australian ladies put between AU$20-$25 worth of coupons into the package for up to half a kilo weight. This is roughly 560 triangles in 20 small separate bags, a lager plastic ziplock bag and a Tough Bag size B2 post paks. This post pack would get the HST to America and Debbie and Clara would then organise an International Flat Rate boxes which can be sent to Australia. The U.S. cost is $13.95 for the smallest size box (sized 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" x 1-1/2") or 12-1/2" x 9" envelopes.
The coupons in Australia are for letters and my post office suggests that I order them from him as they do not keep that many in stock, and it will take a few days for the Post office to get them in.
So ladies don't forget to put your POSTAGE COUPONS and your PREPRINTED LABELin with your post pack.
