Didn't know it was folding, but I received my issue yesterday, flipped through it, and threw it out. Found nothing in it. Trying to cut down on the amount of reading material that enters my house every month. Already stopped Fons & Porter and a couple of others that feature too many chicken and bunny quilts for my taste.

I didn't know they were ending either. I buy them occasionally off the rack but wasn't a subscriber. I wasn't that thrilled when Mark was on every cover either. Oh well, not earth shattering to me. I'm a magazine junkie but have cut waaaaayy back in the last few years. Next I have to get the nerve to throw out the ones sitting on the shelves and under the shelves and on the tables.Jules~

I'm in the same boat Joyce! Who really needs 20 years worth of old magazines???? I seldom go back to look for something, and now with the Internet, it's much easier to find things there. I'm even using my book resources less these days. :?

And I know my Quilter's Newsletters aren't valuble. Why is it so hard to throw them out?
(I had a quilting friend visit from out of state a few weeks ago. She said that next year she'll come and stay a few days and would organize my sewing room! :YIKES!!: So I really need to get going in there myself. )Jules~

I no longer subscribe to any magazines, as I feel TQS is a better value for my dollars. Also, I frequent several quilt blogs that provide me with more than ample quilt inspiration.
However, over the years, my taste and interests change. For that reason, it's difficult for me to throw out any of my old quilt magazines, which were mostly accumulated from the FREE Table at my quilt guild. I do frequently go back to reread these magazine, and to search for a pattern that I once saw in them. I can never bring myself to cut a book or magazine, so I put sticky notes in them to mark pages that interest me. One day, I might create an online index of the magazine quilt patterns on my "To Do" list.Lyndhurst, Ohio USA - East Side Suburb of Cleveland, Ohio

I always tear up magazines and put what I want into sleeves in a binder.... I have a large shelf of these binders... marked Inspiration, someday patterns, machine quilting, etc. I do get most of my magazines at quilt shows for a quarter....
What I have found in tearing them out... most of the stuff is advertisement or time sensitive stuff that out dates any ways. I only save less than 25% of the magazine if I save all of the non advertisement that is interesting.
Most of the patterns are poorly written and you have to re-figure out most ... but that leads to you re designing the quilt/ pattern and that can be fun. ... they are mostly for inspiration or to show me how quilts look in different colors.
Most technique articles are valid for several years. I have articles of how to dating back to the 90s... some products have improved. Many of the techniques are updated, but I like looking at the way the techniques change and evolve.
