I don’t really have a favorite block, enjoyed doing them all. Putting them together took a bit, like a puzzle. I do like the blocks extending to the border. I did notice late that one block I assembled wrong so it become my quilt block variation. I have it pinned and ready to hand quilt, but will wait until suggestions are discussed. Used my stash..so win…win.
Thanks for the guidance on this quilt. So enjoyed the process!

Wow love the colours, it really pops. I want to do the 2023 BOM as well but may need to start that late.

Sharing my completed project. I worked ahead over the holiday break so I could start the 2023 BOM. This was a great project and I learned much about hand piecing and patience. It's not perfect but I am very happy with the effort. Thanks for a great class, Dee!!

I am behind, but enjoying hand piecing. Normally I find it meditative and relaxing… but the Radiant Star! I have used my seam ripper more on this block that all others so far… but I will persist!

Finally got back on track with working on this quilt. I re-watched the video of Dee's way of machine piecing the Mayflower block. I was a little skeptical, but it works great! I was pleased with how the blocks came together. I'm not sure why I can't get my whole photo to show in the forum. It's only showing the middle of the three blocks that are in the photo. I did a red, green and gray colorway because I'm doing a Christmas quilt.

That LeMoyne Star is great. Did you hand stitch it or by machine?

The last quilt I hand stitched was Dear Jane and Dear Hannah several years ago. I loved this quilt’s asymmetrical feeling and the various blocks.
one thing I have learned is not to hand stitch to end of seam like on a machine.

I have enjoyed this QAL and look forward to continuing.
Thanks for all your instructions and tips!

I’m done with the Amish Star. I think I’m going to struggle to get it set in the quilt because some of my 1/4” seam allowances at the points are wonky. But I completely started over once. I really struggled with feeling like I had the correct pieces turned the correct way in the correct spots. Happy with the look but the craftsmanship is a bit loose.

    Hello Everyone,
The Amish Star I know has been a challenge for some of you. Keep at it and don't get discouraged. Slow and Steady! The templates are accurate. Line up your dots or where the lines cross, even if they don't look right at first. It does come together.
