I've been reviewing questions on the TQS Forum regarding the Laurel Ridge 2025 BOM. Here is a link to my blog showing images of the 'Spring' version so you can really see the blocks. Sew'n Wild Oaks Quilting Blog: Laurel Ridge Fabric It was delightful working with this fabric line. --Lynn Wilder -

Lots to learn about our new BOM designer. Take the time to watch Lynn's previous show here at TQS. It is show 1604. I am so excited to get back to basic piecing.
I have been living in a world of applique for the past several years and looking
at Lynn's blog has made me want to start making a lot of her patterns.
I went to her Etsy shop and fell in love with A Ribbon Runs Thru It, Cute As
a Button, and Calico Charmer. So far I am just learning about Lynn. I like to
study the BOM designers in addition to making the TQS BOM's. I need to
finish 2 other applique BOM's I am working on, already done with Pick A Petal,
and then I can start the year with a clean slate. I am really excited for Laurel
Ridge. HelenW

Lynn Wilder has some lessons on this site under the topic LEARN on the menu bar above. If you go to classroom and scroll
down to the bottom and click on Additional Classrooms. You can find her lessons about the second person down. Worth
watching HelenW

Lynn, Just letting you know that TQS list your book on Patchwork Math as Out Of Stock. So last week I found your etsy
site and ordered it there along with A Ribbon Runs Thru It. I wanted both and the free shipping that comes with ordering
both was a real bonus. Waiting patiently to get the email that it has shipped. HelenW

I just realized that I ordered the same two items! I had gone to the etsy site and had a horrible time choosing which pattern to get along with the book. I like math but I'm always willing to see how other people do the math required for quilt blocks, hence ordering the book. My package came in yesterday's mail so I've been waiting until I had some free time to look over everything.

Linda, I too just got my book and pattern. I browsed thru them to see what I would be learning.
It looks like you can watch the you tubes here at TQS to see a lot of the stuff in the book. I already did that
but will watch again as I work my way thru the book. I plan to do one sample of each of the
techniques. Then keep the book near by as I do A Ribbon Runs Through It. You say you like math.
I wish I did. Luckily quilting math is not very hard. I use my EQ8 software to plan out most things.
I already drew up the first block of A Ribbon Runs Through it so I can audition some different
color palettes. HelenW

I like math enough that I have everything figured out for my squares to make bias binding so that everything fits with no excess. I used the standard formula for right triangles A squared plus B squared equals C squared to work it out. All of my instructions from other books I ended up with the bias strips not fitting evenly into the squares and I had an excess of fabric, which drove me crazy. My friend thinks I'm also crazy for re-checking all the patterns I buy before I cut fabric. I've sent in any number of corrections to companies over the years. It may not surprise you to know that my degree is in accounting, which must be very precise as well!
