    Bernette sewing machines

I have a Husqvarna sapphire and it's not the worst sewing machine in the world but sometimes it's temperamental. I did a whole quilt of free motion quilting and the stitches looked ok but the tension was all over the place and drove me nuts. I worked out that you can only put the same thread in the bobbin that you have on the top. It's time to take it to be serviced and get a few small things fixed, and I am wondering if I want to get a new machine. I was looking at a Bernette. A 7 series Bernina is around $7-8000 in Australia and frankly, that is a lot of money. I saw the Bernette B77 and it's going for around $1500.00 and wondered if anyone has any experience with them. They also have an embroidery/quilting model B79 which is around $2600 which is more like what I want to spend. I just can't justify $7500 price tag on a Bernina. Is there a huge amount of quality difference, if it's just that one is more plasticky and the other then I think I can live with that. Would like to hear what others say.
