Welcome, pwalters. We just love to see new faces around here. We have lots of fun. But just as importantly, I think one of the best kept secrets re TQS is what a tremendous resource for information and technical advice the membership provides. Some of it is utterly amazing. Many of us check recent topics daily to stay in touch and keep informed. Hope you stick around.

Thank you for this great idea Chip, a great way to hang quilts. Lois you are so right about TQS being a wonderful resource for everything quilt related (and other things too  ) I love the idea of using these clips for a design wall.
          Best Wishes Pam

Great idea for small items, but I would be concerned that the weight of a larger projects would cause them to stretch out of shape. Even small projects that I have hung in a similar manner have stretched over time. Items would need to be changed out fairly frequently to avoid the stretching caused by placing weight on a small stress point. I have not had any stretching problems using a small wooden dowel or curtain rod, but have had problems with stretching when using a system similar to the curtain clips. Has anyone else had experience with this?

I agree this would be an important concern with larger heavier quilts.

We discovered this at our local Longarm quilt shop. But they actually had hooks screwed into crown mold that allowed you to hang the circles on. I took a picture of a section. Hope it's not too grainy. We use it to hang quilt tops while we contemplate how we want to quilt them.

here's another idea, I had this up in my apartment. had seen this at a local quilt shop. a strip of wood(1x2 or such) with clothes pin clips screwed on. real easy to add/remove quilts quickly. put the clips on the wood, then hang the wood.

I bought two inexpensive curtain rods at Lowes to hang quilts in my sewing room.

dJane the one quilt is my favorite. It had eleven hand embroidered quilt squares and so enjoy doing hand embroidery. I bought the quilt kit at the Long Beach Quilt festival a few years ago. I am pleased with the display for a couple of my quilts.

Surely if one used enough of those curtain clips there would not be an issue. After all they are designed to hang curtains and some of those can be very heavy indeed.
