    Glue sticks

Just watched the Sharon Pederson show where she used the glue stick (she called it lipstick) I use these all the time,,if you pop it into the freezer for a few minutes first it makes it even easier to use and no little "blobs" of glue

I keep my glue sticks in the refrigerator, keeps 'em chilled, fresh & out of the way till I need 'em! The family laughs at me when I go to the back to school sales in September & buy a hundred glue sticks, but I got them for 12.5 cents each vs. about 50 cents each normal price. Who's laughing now?! Happy glue-sticking! Kathy B.

Thanks for these tips. I have never seen the thin glue sticks before so I will look for them when I am in NYC this week.
Buying them at back to school time is brilliant.

Have any of you tried Sharon's or Alex's new turning tool? I just use my sharp stilletto.

I use Elmer's Purple Washable School Glue...I like the smaller size too(eaiser to handle). It's just a starch and it will wash right out...no residue and it won't make your fabrics bleed.

I, too, use the pink glue stix all the time. I also use the Elmer's frequently, too. Depends on the intricacy of what I'm working on. Sometimes smaller really makes it easier.

I use the standard Elmer's purple glue sticks, just the edge, the less the better to do the job, less to wash out later. For turning, I love my small sharp scissors, a thick wooden toothpick (used for hors'douvres, pardon the spelling), and even a shortened wooden skewer. Or a thumbnail! I sponge off my tools & wash my hands often so I'm not sticky & can keep turning efficiently.

I've almost reached the end of two applique quilts on which I've used this method & I love it, everything's pinned and/or glued down, ready to stitch! Kathy B.

I live in Canada too as does Sharon Pederson. If I find the sticks I will buy 2 & send you one. I am going shopping on Friday with 2 pals who know the fabric district very well.
