I take mine to an office supply place that offers photocopy services. They will enlarge up to A1.

I print what I want out on a transparency and then go to the church and use their overhead projector.

I use the grid method and draw it out by hand.

I use Excel spreadsheet and my scanner. I either scan it or digitally photo it with my digital camera and then I clean it up in my photo editer, and cut and paste it into Excel. There, I use the image sizer provided in Excel to make it the size I want. When it prints out, you have to trim the sections and tape it together, but it divides it up without any problem. It usually has a little extra overlap on each section, so when you cut the image pieces apart, you have to play with it a bit on the piece you are attaching it to to make it fit. Then tape it down. It's not perfect, but it works for most things. Occasionally, the printer distorts a section a bit more than others, and you have to work harder to make it fit together, but it usually works.

Our local FedEx/Kinko's has an enlargement machine that is huge. I've taken an 8 1/2x11 and made it close to 4x6feet. There is a limit to one size, but it was well worth the cost -- if I remember correctly is was only around $5.

Ditto, I use Staples. though their copier was down the other day and will try again today. Its nice to have it enlarged onto one sheet that can be easily rolled up.

Thanks for the information about Kinko/FedEx. $5 is a very doable price!

Make sure your original has a fine enough resolution such that when your photo is enlarged it's not too grainy.

Great ideas to enlarge with. I wonder what I wanted to enlarge? Oh, yeah a drawing of my son's. I thought I would just put the drawing on my light box and do one small quilt first. Only I had trouble copying it that small. Thanks everybody. Jan

                      Jan,
sometimes you can check the printer properties, and enlarge it like the Excell, into many sheets, it's called poster I think. and it will go up quite large. I just did it for a portrait class I'm taking with Quilt Univeristy.
My Kinko's charges more than 5! I think it has been so much a foot.
