Oh I don't know Margo... is an apology enough?....maybe you could offer to actually stitch everybody's sashing for us... to make it up to us. The video is great Margo, and very clear, thank you. (And your nails are still looking good!)
The nails were a real PITA! The the boo-boo on my left thumb is where I glued my thumbs together when putting on the fake nails!
I won't be doing that again! From now on, it will be plain ole nekked nails!! Jeesch....what a bother!

Thank you Margo for another excellent video. I will use this technique in the next month's sashing, as I'm pretty sure that those small triangles will be easier sewn that way.
Also, it get the ink out of the way - My ironing board is all stained from the ink - maybe I was using a wrong type of toner, or my printer was not set properly?
Anyway, this is my next technique!

Good morning Margo!
I wanted to say "thank you" yet again! I just watched your video on paper piecing with freezer paper, and your explanation is crystal clear. I have read about this technique before, but it seemed very difficult. Thanks to your video and tips, I will be taking this technique for a test drive this weekend.
Take care!

Excellent video on freezer paper piecing. Your instructions are very clear - and it is such fun to get to hear your voice! In addition to running the paper through your printer or sewing through the paper with an unthreaded machine, it is also possible to trace the pattern right on the paper side. If the piece of freezer paper is long enough, you can (carefully) combine the two half patterns into one long section for the interior triangle bars in the quilt. Thanks for doing this - you continue to make the quilt world a better place!
Best wishes,
Mike

Use Freezer Paper for your foundation and you won't have any paper to remove!!

i have the "add-a-quarter" rulers, both 6 and 12inch, havn't ever seen the "add-an-eighth" - will have to be on the lookout for that this spring/summer.
what i'm also looking for is the opposite - one that has the groove on the other side - so that i can slide it over a fabric edge and mark a quarter inch sewing line... would be a great help for my "on-the-go" handpiecing projects. as i just use strips or squares for those, it would be great to mark the quarter inch seam allowance. i started marking it with a regular ruler at first - have also used the add-a-quarter for that - but as i just use it as a guide - it's still a bit tedious. the result is that i generally gave up marking and just eyeball it - ending up with the wierdest seam allowances - but hey - it's handmade and i only use it for stuff where it's not really important (blog hopefully online soon with the black-white swirl quilt).
but if anyone ever comes accross that one - buy me one too - i'll be very very happy to pay for it and shipping and a pack of chocolates on the side :wink:Lotti, Kuessnacht - Switzerland

Would either of these be what you are after, Lotti?

or you could just cut 1/4" strip off an old credit card (or similar) for the job. :wink:Lotti, Kuessnacht - Switzerland

Lotti, do you think Susan Cleveland's Piping Hot Binding Tool would work for your purposes? Maybe you can go to her website http://www.piecesbewithyou.com/home.htm and look at it to see if it's what might work or better yet, I think she demonstrated it on one (or both) of the shows she did on TQS. Let me know if it works--I can check the local quilt shops around here to see if they have it. Just want to make sure it will work for you. Let me know.

Lotti, I really like Marcia Baker's Cutting Edge, and it will work for marking your lines too!

In a pinch, you could also just stick a couple of layers of painter's tape along the appropriate line as a stop for the edge of your fabric!
