    saving BOM instructions and video

I am delighted to find out I can save the monthly video to replay when I get to that block. I have my kit and had heart by pass surgery so I have not gotten started yet. Being able to go back and view the video's on my computer has given me so much comfort should the site be unavailable when I get to starting my BOM. It is so beautiful.

I hope you do another BOM next year.

Sorry to hear about your surgery and I wish you a speedy recovery. It is good to save the instructions --print them out or save to your computer. Last year's BOM was removed from the web site at the end of the year.

I didn't realize you could save the videos. Cool!

      Hi Lorna:
To save video, I right clicked on the video site and in the menu I clicked on "save target." I set up a video folder in my Cesigns folder.

I'm doing great now and have interuptions to getting started with the BOM. My grand daughter is learning to quilt by making quilts for friends who are having Baby Showers. We are on the second quilt.

I need to learn how to use this forum, and to up date my profile with quilts I have made. I am into machine applique also.

Bobbie: Thank you sooooooooo much for explaining how to save the videos. I have been wondering about that since the BOM started.

So are you actually saving the video? When I try this, all I save is a blank html page, that yes, will run the video, but not if you are off line....which means that once the videos are removed at the end of the year, you can no longer watch them.....
What you need is the swf file, and I can't find any way to save them anymore. Used to, but with the changes made to browsers to make them so called safer, you no longer can download the files that are embedded in html pages.

Be assured that we will not remove the videos at the end of the year. You will need to have the instructions downloaded as the pattern goes back to Sue, but the videos will be stored on our site and available at least through 2010 and maybe longer.

Help! I may be a bit dense, but when I click on the video, I do not get the option to save target, just the image!!! So I cannot save it. I am running Vista, is that the problem??

Oh, Cap'n John, I am soooo glad that you will keep the videos posted for us through 2010 - the longer, the better. Life throws curves, so I am only just now working on April.

                    thanks,

When you <right>, you are not really saving the video itself, just a webpage that points to the video. It's the same as viewing it from the BOM page. You cannot actually save the video itself, that remains on our webserver.

When I want to save the BOM video I
                        1. bring up video
                        2. click on 'Page' -top right hand side, next to 'Safety'
                        3. click on 'Save as' and follow instructions of where to put it so you can find it again

                        Hope this helps some people

Aaaaaaaah gee... Now I see how you save video. Too late for me tho. I'm working on the 2008 BOM and came to the Forum to find out if there is a better way to make the berries than how I'm doing it. There probably was a video, but I didn't join till mid Nov. Since the BOM started 10 months earlier I didn't get a chance to watch all the video before it was taken down for the 2009 BOM. (Waaaah)

Is there anyplace for us to still download the 2008 video?

Not sure there were any videos for the 2008 BOM.

I joined TQS bc of the 2008 BOM, tho I've found much else that I enjoy!

I did not know you could save the videos. Is it possible to still see them? I have not started my BOM yet, but need the help!

                              Thanks, Angeliasue
