I just tried to download the corrected version of the April block and I get the message "the file is damaged and cannot be repaired". Can somebody check this out?

I just checked it and it seems fine. Try exiting out of the site and then going back in.

It worked fine for me this morning, Elsie. If you are still having trouble, sent a note to the Contact link and have Guru Bob check on it for you.

I don't have to explain why the paper foundation would otherwise be shaped like the State of Utah.
Can someone clue in this poor befuddled British lass? :?

Whats wrong with Utah and its shape? ( has it been eating too much and put on weight  ) or are you just being 'stateist'

Rosemary, Utah is a square with a corner square chopped out. Nothing wrong with the state, Sue was just making a comparison to it! But we do tend to be "stateist" (that's part of what fueled our Civil War).

I feel the same way! I'm still struggling to finish March, because of time restraints, so haven't printed out April yet.

I just finally got working on my April border stars today. After spending time wondering why my cut fabric didn't match the paper pieces, I decided to check the forum. I'll have to print out the corrected sheets to see if it works now. It sure would have been helpful to put a notice in the daily blog about the mistake or did I miss it. This quilt is challenging but it certainly is making me pay attention and be more accurate than I've been in the past.

I finally got started on April's stars yesterday. Note to self and everyone, don't use a directional fabric as your background. I used a light grey with a very teeny tiny stripe, that is VERY noticeable up close and personal if not all running in the same direction! I am going to have to sew some more half-square triangles to finish out April, and then make a decision. Do I continue with this fabric, or get another. I am also toying with the idea of making two wall hangings rather than one large quilt. More information to follow!

                        Hi Maggie,

Thanks so much for sharing your tip about the directional prints. I've learned that it's best to check the forum before I make my blocks to take advantage of the lessons learned from the early birds. I really appreciate all of you who take the time to share.

Another discovery... I have a cheap paper fax machine that makes copies, however, those copies are inaccurate. They were off enough that I decided to check them by holding them up to the copy from online. Whew...saved. Those blocks would have been a mess!

                            oh well all sorted now!!

Have cut all the fabrics just need to start sewing tonight
