'morning everyone, I have almost completed my November block, the fusing part anyway. And I was looking through the others with all those dots, and wondering: are we allowed to change a block or do we have to make it like the pattern states? I know there has been much talk in the quilt world about copyrights, and if it's for yourself, is it ok to change a pattern? what if you were to give it as a present? November is already backwards because I didn't pull out my light box! Is it ok to add or subtract items in the design?
Thanks
Joan

Joan, you can ABSOLUTELY change it to make it your own!! If you will go back through some of the forum threads for the different months you can read about some of the changes that different members have done to their blocks. Not just changes in colors, but some embellishments and some creative ways to do different elements. Make it YOURS!
The copyright issue has to do with someone copying a pattern then selling it as if they designed it. When you make a quilt using a pattern designed by someone else, it's always a good idea to include the designer's name on the label to give credit where credit is due!

Ok, so here is MY 1st block. It's June, but just happened to be my 1st finished block. I like how the Tulips shaded. I fussy cut a spendy hand dyed fabric I'd been saving. I'm glad I used it, but that poor fabric looks like dinosour-moths got to it. LOL
Hey, how do we get the blocks into the groups blocks?

WOW! Deb, your shading is perfect! And a good use of that spendy fabric, I'd say!!
To post your BOM photos with the others, click on SHOW & TELL (on the top purple bar).
Scroll down to the 2008 BOM and below the photo of the quilt, click on SUBMIT ENTRY.
You will choose the month from the drop down menu, then enter a title for your block and add your text. After you've done that, click on SUBMIT at the bottom of the page.
Then you will click on UPLOAD PHOTO and click on BROWSE to choose the photo from your files, click on your photo to select it and click on OPEN in the file box, then click on UPLOAD PHOTO.
When the file has been uploaded click on SUBMIT again and check to see if your photo is with the rest of them!
Kinda like jumping through hoops, but it will work! Let us know if you need more help.

Margo, all I see is 6 topics:
'Super Bowl of Pets'
'What Are You Working On?'
'World Quilt Shop Tour'
'Mystery Quilt'
'Holiday Photos'
'Antique Blocks & Patterns'
No BOM place. (Waaah)... What am I missing? (sniff)
