    October Block

Before you guys get all excited, thinking, how did she get the block early, I just want to say that I have finally got all those berries done for the October block! WooHoo! The new baby in my sewing room is a Janome 11000SE and I have been learning to do embroidery. While the machine is stitching, I was working on those circles. Love this multi tasking!

Maggie in E. Central Illinois, who must have been tired or preoccupied this morning. I went to get my cup of coffee to drink at the computer, but when I got back to the computer, I was carrying to whole pot, no cup! "Wake up, Maggie, I think I got somethin' to say to you!"

Well darn it Maggie, I could have been right there with you in having the berries done, but then unfortunately dear Ike came to town, and it all went downhill from there, I think I've got at least 30 of them done, before I decided to head north to Dallas to stay at my son's home last Friday, still no power at my house it's supposed to be back in my area by 9/22. Heidi, I didn't know that you had to leave your home, too. That must be a terrible feeling.
Has anyone heard from Lynn? If the power is still out down there, then she can't charge her cell phone to call out. Hope everyone is okay. Judy in AZ

Maggie that's so funny about the coffee pot! I'm so there myself. In fact this morning was talking with a couple friends who said the measure is forgetting the coffee cup is normal, forgetting what it's for is when you have to worry lol!

Heidi so sorry to hear your power is still out. How inconvenient. I'm still praying and wondering about Lynn too.

Maggie, I laughed out loud at the coffee pot scenerio!! Nice to know we are all in this together!!! LOL!!!

I got my berries done, too, and also used my bias tape maker to get the stems ready so I feel like I'm really ahead of the game!

BTW, we also haven't heard from Karen (wren1010) yet. Hopefully it's just a power issue and they will have a house when they get back! Good to hear that you are all right, Heidi!

In case you didn't see it on another topic I got an email from Lynn Friday night. They just don't have internet, thus the silence. Lost power for 18 hours, no real damage. Thank God!
            Still nothing from Karen?

Florence, I love your block. This should be on the September forum. Sorry

Now I have all my berries done, and fabrics picked out! I'm not used to being ahead of time on anything, this is weird!

Can't you tell that we're excited to get these last 3 blocks done so that we can get to the next BOM! It will be like Christmas in January!

Maggie in E. Central Illinois, who plans to boost the local economy by buying a wheeled tote for my new embroidery machine.

Hi Judy and Pattie, my power came back on yesterday right before I got home from work I think. Not sure about Lynn I live 25 north of Houston and she is south of Houston. That made it 12 days without power in my area alone. So perhaps I get to work on some berries tonight as October 1 is right around the corner already.

I'm impressed that so many of you are ahead of the game!!!! I wish I could be too, but at this point I'll just wait for October 1. I'm just pleased that I caught up! I started January in April and now finished September BEFORE the end of the month! :-) I'm also working on a very ambitious quilt for my niece's graduation from high school next April, plus all sorts of other projects! I don't know if I'll ever get them all done.......it's so crazy, but I like thinking of and planning projects! Steven in Mahopac, NY

Good job, Steven!! And once again, I'm impressed with the Memorial quilt that you made to remember your Dad. I wasn't aware of that tradition, and think it's beautiful.

Oh, Gosh! I got my power back the next day! I feel for you!

I still can't get my internet (ComCast) up tho!

So I'm at the coffee shop.
