Maggie, Bridget and Ritzi: Your blocks turned out great, I finished mine last night, used bugle beads for the baby's breath, used fusible dissolvable stabilizer that I soaked overnight to get out of it, block is drying now, picture posted in a day or so.
Galveston is batting down it's hatches as we're getting ready for Tropical Storm Edouard, we may be in for a lot of rain and wind, which means losing power. I'm 75 north of Galveston but we'll still be getting a lot of what they'll experience. Heidi

Margo, did you stem stitch around your stars? Did you do that to all of your needleturned stars in the other months? I might have to make 2 sets , a black background and a light background. They all are so beautiful. Maybe I could make a wall hanging out of either color just using a few of the blocks. Judy in AZ

Judy in AZ - Yes, I used a stem stitch to outline all of my background stars. Album #6 in my Webshots website shows how I do it if you are interested.
Terri - I used a batik for the skinny stems. The tightly woven fabric was really no problem to work with. I show how I managed it in my tutorial. If I were going to use a zig-zag machine stitch for the stems, I would either use a stabilizer or I would starch the background fabric several times to make it really stiff before I stitched it.
Sandy - Thanks! I tried the white thread for the baby's breath knots, but I thought that they didn't show up enough so I used the same thread that I used around the star. I was the kid in kindergarten who outlined all of her crayon artwork with a heavy black line!! LOL!!! I guess that means I need to know where the boundries are???

I'm hoping some of you have more experience than me with putting beads on fabric like this. I'm thinking I should do a double-run-thru stitch so that the beads lie flat with the hole pointing forward. I'm thinks that extra stitch will kind of be doubly secure also. I don't have stabilizer under that part of my pattern. So far I'm using tiny, tiny white pearl beads and think they look kind of cute.
I don't know how big bugle beads are?
Yeah, here in Sugar Land, TX, (north of Galveston about 50-70 miles) we are getting rain, but very little wind. Half the city is staying at home today! The rest of us are working, I guess. It's not much of a storm, really, but we could use the rain and are thankful for the wind being so moderate!
I'm at work, but it's slow since so many are home (I'm jealous) enjoying being tucked in with the storm!
