Count me in as part of the BOM Squad! I am doing machine applique using the satin stitch. I'm a bit behind (having other projects to complete in the meantime) so I only have Jan and Feb done. I have March and April fused to the background ready to stitch. I'm mostly using fabrics from my stash but am short on pinks and blues so pick up some fat quarters when I see them for future blocks. It's really fun seeing everyone's blocks as they're finished.

Geez...I skipped a couple of days and look what I missed!! So glad everyone's having a good time! I love Sue's original color scheme and am sorta following her lead. I bought new fabric for the background but am using some orange/red and cheddar that I had left over from another project and adding everything else from my stash. Next month's block (July) looks more involved than June, but we can do it....one stitch at a time!!

I'm also part of the BOM Squad. I bought a chocolate brown for the background and am using brights from my stash for all the applique. Hopefully, it'll look like a big box of yummy chocolates when it's all done. I'm using freezer-paper-on-top-needleturn applique for most of it. Almost done with June and I'm sad there are no little circles this month  (I think I'm in the minority there

Thank you for this thread.
I have Blocks January - May done. I just started on June, we've been painting and redoing the living room for the last 5 weeks!
Anyway, I have decided that in addition to hand button hole stitch I will be hand quilting the blocks and have started the January block. I found some red fabric in my stash that I will use as the back. I guess I'll figure out how to put them together eventually. I love to hand quilt but don't like the bulk of a big quilt. There are a few books that teach putting them together and I do have the Betty Cotton book and DVD so it'll get done --someday. I would really love to go meet my fellow BOM buddies in Co in 9/09 and bring along a finished quilt.
Now that I'm hand quilting it though, I will be a bit more careful of the layers of fabric, it is tough getting through so many.

Edited to add: This entire quilt is made from my stash. The batting is some I won for a ribbon on the quilt in my profile. My aim is to buy nothing for this quilt only what I have in my "store" as the daughter calls it. She shops frequently in my store if she has no cash for her stash!

I just sent you an email. When I read your color choice I had to see your blocks, they are Stunning!!!Originally posted by RuthMcII decided to do a sepia-toned BOM from my stash. So far, so good. I've been trying a variety of turned-under-edge machine applique. I have two blocks completed and the third ready to sew.
Everyone, stop reading this post and go check out her pictures,....come on, just go, you can come back here in a minute............................................ ......... see I told you they were stunning...
Ok, back to the subject at hand.
Thank you, oh and Ruth, please post more pictures when done, I can't wait to see them. How I wish I had thought of it but alas, you've given me an idea for another quilt. Well some day since my stash and UFO's continue to build.

I'm in too. Finished all so far. Love going to Margo's site and see the ones she's added. Margo you are fantastic to do this for us. I am using Sharon Schamber's technique for machine applique and it goes quite fast (if there aren't too, too many leaves and stems all in one, like March :? ) I plan to hand quilt in a grid background. Maybe I'll get it done in time for LaVeta!

Thanks for the kudos, Nancy! This has been a labor of love for me from the beginning. Now that we are half-way through the patterns, I'm anxious to see how many members stick with us to the end. I'm also thrilled to see new members joining us and hope to see even more folks posting pictures of their finished blocks!Originally posted by ntrquilterI'm in too. Finished all so far. I am doing a quilt as you go technique for quilting my funky black and white BOMs I quilted the first six yesterday and it was so slick to only have the size of each BOM to work with and not have the extra weight and size. I am using Sharon Pederson's Reversible Quilt book as my instructions but really don't need the instructions until you get to the point of sashing the squares together. Not sure if I am going to make a whole quilt or three or four smaller wall hanging sizes that I can use as valances in my "Texas room" sewing studio that has five windows and a sliding glass door (covered with my design wall) Since between the mobile in Texas and the motorhome we are severely wall space challenged, I tend to use my wall hangings as drapes or valances. We have more windows than walls in both places. Necessity is the mother of invention so they say and I make more things than I can use or give away. Only have one bed in each house so two quilts take care of them and every family member has at least one quilt and some will be getting their second ones this year and next. Any way some things just can't be given away or donated yet so I have to find places for them.
Ann what other creative ways have you used your quilts for

I'm in on the BOM also, only doing 9 of the blocks for a 3 x 3 setting to use it as a wall quilt. I haven't been on the forum for a few days and was glad to see this new site. I purchased fabric Fairy Frost) for the background and the background stars. The rest has been from my stash. I'm doing machine applique with Sharon Schamber's foundation and the overlock stitch. I'm still working on the June block - have been delayed with a new puppy and some health issues with my dad, who will be 99 in August. Hope to get June done next week.
I have enjoying seeing all of the beautiful blocks and reading the messages.

Ok, I've been a naughty quilter girl....I want to be counted as a BOMer too!! I only have 3 of the blocks completed, but the other three are in various stages of completion! (does that count?) I do visit everyone of your profile photos for inspiration and read all the threads for the BOM several times a day. Just getting started again is good for my soul!!! Thanks for the nudge girls!!
Blessings,
Debbie
