I'm about ready to decide that I can finish a block quicker if I do needle turn than machine applique. At least with needle turn I can do a short session in the living room with hubby, tv, etc. (or quiet time) where as with the machine applique I seem to have to make a time to sit and sew for a longer period of time.

Perhaps this is a time management issue that needs exploration!

The machine applique is a newly acquired skill where the needle turn is 'old hat' for me. Maybe I'm just averse to change. Never let that be said as that means I'm OLD! ha

I'm getting there finally. I just posted my February block. I think I am going to do all the circles on this quilt as yo-yos, I just love the dimentionality it lends the finished peice, plus it is easier 8) Now I need to get started on prepping the March block so I can at least say I STARTED the March block during the month of March, lol.

I love yo-yo's too and think they would be great on the quilt. Good idea.
I am using Karen Kay Buckley's method (Perfect Circles) . I took her applique class a few years ago. We used precut plastic circles, Magic Sizing, Q-tips. Check her out at http://www.karenkaybuckley.com

I just posted my Feb block! Hopefully learning as I go about the minute challenges of machine applique! It's a shame to 'learn' on such a beautiful quilt, but you 'gotta do it sometime!'

I couldn't believe I found the centers to these flowers in a scrap of fabric I had! Amazing!

            On to March.

Very Nice - I have some of that fabric you used in the vase.

I really wanted March done by April but I'm close! One step at a time.
