HI Dawn, Wow you blow my mind. I think all going well that I will also be trying to do the 2011 BOM at the same time as this years BOM and I also have
lots of UFO's that I plan on "hopefully" getting finished this year, just need some clear time to get into it, good luck with it all. When I hear all of the
things others are doing it makes me feel a whole lot better  just keep on having fun

Hi
Yes I have decided that I am going to give this a go. My friend Anne and myself will be making this our 2012 project. I have downloaded this months instructions and templates and am now working on a colour scheme. Anne and myself live in Australia but we are both Pomms. I do not usually make traditional quilts so this is going to be one big challenge for me. I will need your support.....

Hello,
I have decided to jump on the wagon and do this BOM. My Ricky Tims stabilizer arrived yesterday. I do not have any fabrics for it yet but my local quilt shop is having a sale tomorrow so I am going to see what I can come up with (can't pass up a 25% off sale). I have never attempted anything like this one before but figure if I take is slowly it will be doable.

Hi everyone, As soon as I saw the Sedona Star I knew I would be doing it. The colours used by Sarah are amazing and I have chosen fabrics with similar colourings, especially the bright pinks and blues. Have finished the inner circle which went together like a breeze. So happy with that. I also completed the 2010 BOM and close to finishing 2011(just loved Sue's little baskets and multi coloured swags) and have loved my learning curve going upwards with the wonderful educational experiences in patchwork and quilting I have received through TQS. I live outside of a regional area in NSW Australia and TQS and the BOMs bring so much into my life.

I just had that thought about myself as I was taking breaks at the computer in between sewing Wot RoTT exchange pieces together... My excuse is that I'm new at quilting so I take alot of breaks in order not to get flustered while I'm trying too hard :roll:Originally posted by winkydink13My dear husband has just made the remark that "he doesn't know how the hell any of us get any quilting done as we all seem to be spending all our time on the net talking to eaach other"

I take frequent computer breaks, because sewing/cutting is hard on my neck. It begins to hurt after a while, being in the down position. So, I just get up and come to the computer, so I can stare straight ahead for a while. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

I can't resist doing this beautiful BOM. I completed 2009 BOM, but it was very stressful for me trying to keep up. I did the blocks for 2010 applique BOM, but really lost interest in the project along the way and it never turned into a quilt. I sat out 2011. This year I'm giving myself permission to NOT keep up. After all, BOM means Block of the Month, not 9 or 12 blocks each month and 80 someodd blocks in the busiest month of the year, December!

Such wise words, Susie! Some may be inspired by the challenge to keep up, others might be overwhelmed. We must know ourselves well, in order to enjoy the process and the product of our efforts! I will remind myself of your philosophy!Originally posted by SusieQMcFI can't resist doing this beautiful BOM. I completed 2009 BOM, but it was very stressful for me trying to keep up. Very wise Susie, it's great to know our individual limitations and it doesn't matter if we get "behind" because wer're not really behind we are just doing it at our pace for our own enjoyment, it's when we put pressure on ourselves that the joy goes out of it and we are doing it for the joy so we must just enjoy the journey, have fun

Barbara and Shirley and Susie, The joy is in the doing. And if doing stresses you, then there is no joy!Originally posted by winkydink13Very wise Susie, it's great to know our individual limitations and it doesn't matter if we get "behind" because wer're not really behind we are just doing it at our pace for our own enjoyment, it's when we put pressure on ourselves that the joy goes out of it and we are doing it for the joy so we must just enjoy the journey, have fun

Hi, I live in England, (which has been very cold the last few days
) and I am also attempting this years BOM. I just love Sarah Vedeler's work and was very exciting when this BOM was annouced. I work full time so have very limited time for my sewing, but will be grabbing any spare minute to work on this lovely quilt. Can't wait to attempt some of the machine applique, it will be great to put my embroidery module to use.
Have fun everyone
