I have just had major issues printing the wonky star block. I'm attaching a photo of what printed as I couldn't do a screenshot in windows 11. My border blocks printed correctly. I re-did the download and everything looks good when I call up the file, but when I click print, I see this on the screen. Is this something that was embedded from The Quilt Show? Should I be sending this to an IT department?

I think I can probably use the vellum as I'm pretty sure I can follow all the lines, even with the dark markings.

Linda, I don’t have that issue. You can try using a different browser. Be sure you are printing a downloaded file, not the View File one.
If others are having this problem please let me know.

Barbara, I'm getting ready to sew the border and am reading the end instructions to tear out the paper and press half the blocks the other direction. It occurs to me that I could save time by sewing that half in the reverse order of Becky's numbering. Some paper pieced blocks wouldn't allow me to do this, but this one would permit doing this. I think getting the bigger triangle correct will be something to keep an eye on, but I can't think of any other reason not to do this. Thoughts?

I've now run a test set of blocks, left and right. Here's what I've learned.

First, I think you should cut the big piece 4.5 square top give you some breathing room.

Next cut the three white sections as rectangles. Smallest I would go is 5 by 1.75, but you may have leftovers that will cover this so you can go wider.

Finally, there's an Alice in Wonderland problem with the lines for cutting and sewing. I suggest highlighting the sewing line to keep you on track. And maybe draw the missing cut line when you start from the small point.

The first two points won't take any more time, and I think drawing the alternate cut lines and highlighting the sewing line will be pretty quick compared to repressing.

Yes, you have to seam the border to the correct length. I used a straight seam. Do a Bias seam if you prefer.
