I have been advised that machine quilting the solids will be a challenge as quilting will be very noticeable. I am thinking I will do one more border around it, The print fabric one I will do all the blocks as quilting is more forgiving, The bright one is finished and I will start quilting it. This one I will add some game pieces on a string, probably circle chips. That one will be for my daughter to hang in her new home on three season porch or basement game room. The inner corners are tricky but after doing the other 2 I figured out how to do them. Pressing matters. I also trimmed fabric near whites so strings don’t interfere in the back of the whites. I do love the solids, but the print is gaining my heart. The block one is just fun.

I am still trying to sew this together. To keep the selvages together while sewing the 1/4" its probably better to remove the vellum paper before sewing as Barbara recommended. I can see mine are slightly askew -- can't fix it yet and hopefully it will be forgiving. Just a little tip for anyone who has not yet sewed the middle together.

I'm not happy with my circles. Maybe I'll do a,blanket stitch around them to hide the fact the they aren't perfect.

Janet M. I like that you used the 4 small circles where are the intersections come to gather in the
yellow that the corner circles are. It definitely looks like a design decision. I think your big circles
look good. The blanket stitch might make people get closer for a better look. Right now they like
          just fine. HelenW

This years BOM is really challenging but very interesting. Thanks to Beckys excellent videos and Barbaras explanations I finished the center. The border is a little bit different because the finished size on mine was different. Maybe due to a printing difference?!

Once it's 36.5" square you are all set, however you had to get there. Nice job!

You’re not the only one struggling with the circles…I am hoping the quilting will help. Your quilt looks good

I’m quite pleased with the center medallion so far. I don’t do needle appliqué, and despite Becky and Barbra’s excellent instructions and advice, my efforts were terrible. I tried a variety of approaches including using a circle accessory on my machine and cutting away the top layer of fabric, gathering the fabric around a freezer paper template. I learned all the ways those various methods could go wrong! I finally did raw edge appliqué using circle sizes that were easy given the tools at hand.

This turned out to be very difficult because I made the seams too small but also because I forgot to do Barbara’s suggestion and make the outside pieces wider to be able to make compensations.

Hi Lynnanne, I love your color combinations. If you need to square up at this point it is a good time.
Have you tried getting it wet and blocking it to size. It does not look like you would have to stretch it much. HelenW

This is my prints version. I decided since it is Game On the board needed some dice. Almost finished with the solid kit.

Made my next round of border blocks. Loved the fan border from Pick A Petal 2 years ago. May go
with that idea for next round. HelenW

Finished month 3! I watched all videos/blog over and over again which helped make each stage fairly go smoothly, even the setting in of the middle square and doing needlepoint applique for the first time. (Found this quite calming so will do more!)

However, I found the squaring of the block and adding the sashing the most difficult bit! Only have fairly small rulers and cutting mat. Also, needed to 'un-sew' 2 full seams when adding the side outer borders as didn't catch all the skinny inner border in the seams. Had to re-pin and sew from the other side so that I could check..

                    Roll on Month 4!

No photos, they are probably too large. Resize them smaller and try again.

Kathryn N. I like how you used the center circle to highlight the same colors used on the opposite
spikes. That is a lot of seams all in are center area. Great job!!! HelenW
