Hello there.I purchased the solids kit and it will be here Monday. I’ve been following along the BOMs the past three years but this is the first time I’ll be actually participating. I’ve gotten my other Wips and boms to a manageable point and I think I can take this on.

    How much FPP is involved?

    thank you for hosting this.

Most of the quilt is FPP. I will talk about paper choices Monday November 10 on the LIVE broadcast noon central time

Hi Barbara! I’m serious considering joining in on this wonderful BOM. When will fabric requirements be available for those who want to do their own thing? I’m travelling on Friday with a friend 3 hours away to a wonderful shop in Belfast, ME, and was hoping to pick up some solids.

They are expected to be up next week. The scrappy version uses a wide variety of various prints. I do know 3.25 yards of background fabric is required. You could use the color photo of the solid version to select some solids.

Thanks for the background amount. I have the photos saved of the fabric stack and the quilt, so will wing it as best I can.

Hi Carole B, I always love your color palette pictures. So if you get a palette going, post pictures. Do you plan to match the Game On solid colors or just assign each color a new color and come up with something totally different.
I love that it is mostly FPP because that makes it easy to make it any size and still be accurate.
I am thinking small, about the size of a game board like the Name implies. Almost done
with my Sue Spargo Bloomer. And somehow 2 birds from Of A Feather ended up in my
large center block. Had a ton of fun, frustration with learning stitches and now I am ready to get
      back to piecing. HelenW

I’ve only paper pieced once just to try it. If most of Game On FPP, would i be getting in over my head on this project?

I purchased the BOM on 11/3 but when I checked on line the status is "order not complete" -- I have tried contacting TQS but have had no luck. Can you pass this along to someone who can assist me. Thx Barbara

      Hi Jennifer,
In our system, "Order Not Complete" means that your order did not go through for some reason (often just an internet blip) and I double checked your order and confirmed that, in fact, it did not complete. Unfortunately you will need to place it again- you will know that it was successful when you receive an email receipt for it (or you can post back here and I am happy to check and confirm for you!).

      Kindest regards,
      Kristin

You mentioned in your blog that you gave a class in Houston on time management for quilters. I could use a few pointers as I am having difficulty prioritizing which quilt to work on next, which quilt to finish, and how to store the "finish later" quilt blocks. Without asking for a full out course, and since I plan to start two new quilts in the next few months (in addition to the two I'm working on now), any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I watched the let’s get started and tried to match my solid fabrics in the kit. I have two yellows and no mustard in my kit. The yellow is 1/2 yard and the mustard is 1/3 yard. Both my cuts are 1/2 yard. Can you tell me how to reach the store to correct this? When I tried to start a ticket, it says my account doesn’t exist. I am able to log in and my name appears at the top of the page in the upper right.

send email to [email protected] They will make it right. Humans elsewhere pack the kits so I guess someone goofed.

For paper piecing you mentioned Becky uses Vellum -- if you stitch on the lines (not like with freezer paper) you have to not only reduce the stich length but rip the papers after the block is complete. How does the vellum rip? Some are easier than others and I've never used vellum. Also, though I love the freezer paper method, I did find it was not as precise and exact as stitching on the lines. So not sure which way I'll go -

You want the thinnest vellum you can find—and the package often doesn’t say what thickness it is. Becky likes Simple Foundations by C&T. The vellum I used tore easily enough, I found it stiffer than newsprint, which is what I use most often when sewing through paper.
Right now I am working on my print version with freezer paper. No problem with Month 1. I am curious how Month 2 goes when there are 6 sections taped together.

I love this pattern and absolutely do not need another project, but… Everyone knows how that works! I am wondering about selecting fabrics if we want to use our stash. Any advice? And will there be a coloring page available?

Yes, there will be a coloring page.
I pulled fabrics from my closet for my print version and showed some of them on the LIVE broadcast—did you see that? Today I started my print version with a lot of print fabrics in different colors from Becky’s. It’s pretty fun!
The Fabric Requirements lists will be posted soon.

I learned last year to do Foundation Paper Piecing by sewing through regular paper and using the add a quarter ruler, etc. Can I do that for this project? I'm not a fan of freezer paper. Thank you.

Yes, absolutely. Sewing through paper is how the designer did hers and how her instructions are written.
On the LIVE broadcast I forgot to mention the Add-a-Quarter ruler, my most valuable tool for paper piecing. And quality rulers for trimming the paper patterns. Quilters Select and Creative Grid are the very best brands of rulers in my opinion. A 3” x 12” is coming in very handy.
