Playing with EQ8 as I wait for the fabric collections to come out that I want to use. Getting some UFO's done in the mean time.
Some layouts I might go with when I get fabric. HelenW

Marti, I would use the picture of the block provided in the print out and pick solid colors from
that. The column does not say anything about value light medium or dark. That makes a huge
different in overall look of the block. I put an example under your Color Question post. Can
you post a picture of your solids? HelenW

To the person with EQ7, It took me several days to make my layout in EQ8. I used the Layout Custom and set the size for 80 by 80. I drew up the blocks for month one in easy draw set the
size to 5 by 5 and the snaps 20/20/20/20 grid on. You can go to the fabric manufacturers and
take screenshot of the fabrics and bring them in on the image worktable and they will be under
photos. Click on a photo and at the bottom it says save as fabric click that and it will be added
to you fabric palette. If you have specific question I will answer if I know the answer. I used a
lot of copy and paste on blocks that were on the quilt. HelenW

I believe that the blocks you put in the corner are supposed to be next to the other like it, so one block up. I think this because the corner block is repeated many more times in the quilt.

Got the small number done, now onto the 40. Do like the math of making 8 at a time, and I am pleased of cutting the blocks 12.5

Here are my HST’s. I am going with Southwest theme. I also worked on the other appliqué blocks in the quilt rather than flower theme, They are over sized and will be cut down to correct size when those blocks are released. I am enjoying the story as well. Piecing is done on my treadle machine.

Loving your southwest theme. Super fun ideas you are coming up with. It will be a unique
variation of Lynn Wilder's Laurel Ridge. HelenW

These were fast to make. I made 16 of the ones with the stripes and gingham and 8 of the other 2. Since I could only get one 12-1/2" square from a fat quarter, I cut the rest that I needed using 6-1/4" squares. Tilda's fat quarters are 20" instead of 18" which gave me enough fabric. Otherwise I would have cut them 6".

I love blue, so I really like the fabrics that you have chosen. I am going to try arranging my blocks like this for the next month's photo.

I would like to cut my border before I cut the 12” squares. Is it possible to know the border dimension of the flower fabric ahead of time? Hopefully.

The Parchment Blue is a cream Background with very small blue motifs. Use the sketches of the blocks to see what the fabrics look like as you make substitutions.

Month 3 blocks done for both the Grandmother and Granddaughter quilt. Got started last month using Lynn's instructions on the Easy Patchwork Math classroom. Since I'm attempting to complete both quilts, I'm trying to get a head start each month. I'm a little worried about completing blocks for both quilts next month...blocks look complicated!
