My first go at one of the BOM patterns - finally finished my Month 2 blocks! Using my own fabric, but wanted to follow the original applique pattern. Used Karen Kay Buckley's Perfect Circles for the center and small dots - small dots were tricky! Regular needle-turn applique for the other pieces.

I'm way behind, lol, but at least have the first 2 blocks of month 2 complete (though not trimmed to size yet). I digitized the design to cut on my scan n cut and stitch down on my embroidery machine. It was an enjoyable challengeThe next 10 should go quicker now that I have the process down.

I fussy cut these blocks because I will be sharing this quilt with my fur babies I will make the applique’ blocks for a pillow instead. I love to hand stitch needle turned appliqué.Last edited by ; 05-17-2025, 06:14 PM. Reason: This is the first quilt I’m making for my bed and it will get washed often

I’m behind, but I finally got month 2 done. I was so afraid of doing the appliqué that I put it off, but it wasn’t that bad - just time consuming. I tried to make the BERNINA stitches look more handmade, but I couldn’t get that function figured out, so I just stitched. I think this is raw edge? I started to put beads on this, embellish it, then remembered I’d later quilt it, and stopped.Cheryl R
