Finished the top today. I also changed up the log cabin strips. I wasn't enjoying the embroidery, so I added more flowers instead. I like it much better.

I cant see any uploaded pictures on the forum. I just get the words "gallery, gallery, gallery". and "Your request content cannot be loaded. Please try again." I was always able to see them up to about a month ago but I haven't had any luck after that. I thought it may be your servicer but I believe it is something else. Can you instruct me as to what I should do.

I moved the ‘squares’ to the top and bottom to lengthen the top then adjusted the number of the fans on the sides and top. I tried to upload a picture. Pleased with the results

Peg, So glad you posted your Pick A Petal in Member Quilts. It did turn out fabulous. You did both.
Kept to the feel of Jen Kingwell and added your own touch. Your applique choice was perfect.
True to the pattern name Pick a Petal. Way to go!!! HelenW

HelenW thanks for tip on posting on the See Quilts tab. Love your appliqué!! gorgeous! I kept close to Jen's PAP aesthetic, just simplifying the details. I love hand appliqué but tiny pieces not so much.

Peg, It sure is a bummer not being able to see the quilt photos. I am sure your quilt is beautiful.
Would love to see the appliqué. I posted my finished top that is not yet quilted in the member quilts
section under the banner heading of See Quilts. I will replace that photo with the quilted Pick A Petal when I get it finished. I was surprised that photos work in that part of the website, and not in the forum part. HelenW

Went to a quilt retreat this past weekend with all my parts and top is DONE!! I love to do turned appliqué but didn't want to deal with those tiny pieces in the kit so used some pattern shapes from Garden Party Down Under (BOM 2022) and another Jen Kingwell quilt. Used Pick A Petal style but bigger florals. Love it. It was a huge hit at the retreat. I still have to quilt Garden Party so Pick will just hang around a bit before the final push to complete. Definitely staying in my home, not a gift!!

Here is my quilt top sandwich ready to be quilted. I just barely started to hand quilt the other night as I watched tv. Right now I am just doing a running stitch around the fans with 3 rows of running stitch on the inner part of the fans. I’ll decide what else I’ll do as I go!

I’m really happy with my finished quilt top. I didn’t realize how large 72” would be and my first thought when it was together was the line from “Jaws”: “You’re gonna need a bigger boat.”

With all the curves, the top is mostly hand-pieced. Appliqué is turned edge by hand. I used a different Jen Kingwell block for the inside corners. The outside corners are an old block I found in Barbara Brackman’s encyclopedia. It just seemed to fit.
