    Margo sent me this information:

The scale of the quilting design is large to mimic the scale of the large ladybugs on the back, because it really doesn’t show on the front!

I have just finished Homeward Bound in which I used finished edge machine appliqué, so there is fusible under the shapes. Would it be better to launder before quilting or wait until it is completely finished?

Wait until it’s completely done. I have made several with Print n Piece Fuse Lite and the longarm quilter didn’t have any issues quilting it.

I was away in December so I am still working on Month 12. When I put the quilt top on my bed it covers the top of it which means that the last border will hang over the sides. That means the cabins would be upside down. Do you think I could reverse the border so that the cabins are upright?

Simply reverse the orientation of the cabins. Put them however you would like on each border. That still leaves the piano keys borders on the outside.

Of course. Thank you, Barbara. What would we have done without you? Especially on this quilt, you have been such a help and encouragement to so many of us. I bought the kit this time so I won't post a picture as it is the same as a lot of others.

I've measured so many times and no matter what - I'm sure I'm missing something - my month 12 boarders are too long. Any suggestions?

Ann, Can you post a picture of the quilt with the borders laying next to it. It is hard to give advice
or ideas when we don't know if it is a little or a lot. Is it all 4 borders? HelenW

I think the best thing to do is to make the seems a bit larger that 1/4"

Measure the finished size of a lot of the colored strips, each should be 1” finished. My guess is yours are slightly wider than that, so the border has grown a lot. Three things we do wrong in piecing: the cutting, sewing and/or pressing. Check all 3 things with your borders to figure out how to fix them.

1st thanks so much for responding and 2nd it is all 4 boarders

I have measured each and every strip and they are exact. I have figured out how to make some modifications where the boarder attaches and that has worked. Can’t even tell. I know there should be something off but I haven’t been able to find it but my modification is working. Thanks

My borders were too big as well because with so many seams, even if each piece is only hair too big, they all add up very quickly. If you reduce each of the piano key seams by one thread you’ll probably resolve it. The pattern itself is perfect, it’s our sewing that is not…in my case anyway!
