    Month 5 is done, yay!
Key takeaway: careful with stripe print for triangles! I learned it the hard way, haha.

I have decided to try freezer paper applique. With just needle turn I couldn't get the curves smooth. It's fun to see all the different ways people make the project.

Hi Everyone. What beautiful choices in colors for this quilt. I am enjoying everyone's pictures. I am done with Month 5. I really like how the work for this BOM has been divided. I'm finding it is very easy to complete the month even with limited time. I am looking forward to month 6. It is actually hard to believe we are there already. Time does fly.

I finally got around to taking the photo to send in. I actually finished my strips about 5 days ago then kept forgetting to take the photo. As I have the charm pack of Tula Pink fabrics as well as using my own fabric for stems, I picked some different fabrics for some of the triangles that are supposed to be used in a different month. I should have plenty left for what it was supposed to be used for and if I run a bit short, that is what the charm pack is for. I am NOT doing any more hand applique. Those 24 leaves in month 3 were quite enough. Everything I'm doing from now on is machine applique.

Decided to try a dark background for the first time. Was also playing with yoyos and put them on as the flowers.

Had trouble getting those triangles for the flying geese right, constantly turned them upside down. In the end they're all the right way up. Pffff.

My progress so far. Obviously I’ve veered off course! I’m using elements from another Sarah pattern “Down the Rabbit Hole.” I’m thinking of using some of the Homeward Bound applique for the next round along with some words. My top already measures 42 inches and I don’t want it a lot bigger.

Great idea Lori. Are you planning on putting some colored doors on your houses? I always love a
little extra details. Bet Sarah would love that you are combining two of her quilts. I know what you mean about not wanting it too much bigger, but it is so fun to just keep adding on. HelenW
