Finished up this month's hand applique under the wire! I'm quite sure I told everyone don't both me until I can get this month's section done! All I can say is that I have a new appreciation for quilters who have done Baltimore album quilts Although I do like doing hand work, I'll be glad to get back to some piecing next month! I am happy with the value and color placement though!

Hi Carol - thanks! well it's actually eggplant purple. The background was the only fabric I was going to buy so I looked at a ton of dark colors until I settled on getting the dark eggplant. I love a good purple - grin!

      Greeting from Hobart Tasmania.
After being 2 months behind by coming across the BOM late and having to then source the fabrics from mainland Australia, I have finally caught up. Here is my progress.

Venetta brought her project to show me at her guild meeting where I was the featured speaker. She prepped her fabric with Terial Magic and used Print n Piece Fuse Light for the turned edge machine appliqué. Beautiful, flat, lovely work.

Finished month 4 yesterday. Going to live with that wonky petal in the top cone flower for a couple days. Family says keep it like it is, but you know it’s all I see. Having fun with this and love seeing all the variations. All needle turn appliqué…so far, except the stems.

Finally! I made it! one of my finger is super unhappy with me from appliquéing every day, I had to reposition one of the circles (4 total). Now to decide the fabrics for next border!

I am finally finished with Month 4 of the blocks (I have been ill and in the hospital). Don't look too closely as this is my first attempt at needle turn applique. I am finding it the most challenging task I have ever tried. I find it difficult to make it look consistent. Circles are impossible for me and I had to leave out a number of leaves as they just didn't fit. Oh well, I thought I would love this type of applique as much as I love wool applique but have decided that this may not be for me. I will keep trying my best and see if I improve during the year. So here is my imperfect work for Month 4.

Paola First I am sorry you have been ill. Sending good thoughts your way. Next, I think you are being too hard on yourself. I opened the picture & I think it all looks great. Personally, I found it easier to do prepared-edge applique. I too had a hard time with needleturn. Keep at it!

Thank you, Carol. I still have a hard time with this type of applique, particularly the circles. However, month 5 was a little easier as there were fewer applique pieces. I am dreading the larger section as it looks really difficult but will continue to see if I improve. Thank you for the encouraging words.

Slow and steady and still might add a few more leaves, but month 4 is complete after so many mistakes, redo's and now it's short 1/2 all around. So frustrating, but not giving up.
